posts and cars and logs and pics
Jul. 7th, 2006 11:44 pmStatistically speaking, I am least likely to post on Friday nights. This somehow makes it both less and more important that I write something down on Friday nights. More important because one must overcome one's faults; less because hell, I'm already skipping a bunch of them, why not one more?
It's tough to be me.
M has a hilarious story about a conversation he recently heard, and I have been begging him to post about it for weeks. Maybe if I nag him about it via LJ, it will stick. Then we were at WalMart tonight and I took a photo (handy phone!) of him with another thing he wishes to post about. As a matter of fact, I am constantly saying things like, "You should post about that." and then he doesn't. Yesterday I wanted him to post a few paragraphs of his book, because it is funny and it stands alone. So maybe if I whine, it will help.
I skimmed through our ICQ log from 98-99 tonight. I stopped saving it after that, apparently. Anyway, we mainly used it as a backup.. when our primary method of communications were down, we used it to occasionally talk and/or schedule backup locations to talk.. or to alert the other that we were online. ("User is online.") I found this, and thought I'd post it, because it really is pretty funny. Pardon the lazy method of formatting, but I can't be bothered to fix it otherwise.
M just pointed out that it sounded like her especially because she really liked his car. Click the link; this is the car I've mentioned before. It suited him more than I've ever seen a car suit anyone, and I felt worse about him selling the car than I did about him selling the house. (Not as bad as I ended up feeling over him quitting the job, but that's a zillion other posts!) Someday, we shall buy him another one. A better one! One with air conditioning. Because he doesn't live in the frozen wasteland anymore.
p.s. did i get bonus points for posting the picture, love? :)

Kadi 7/10/99 11:09 AM she tricked you?
Yancey 7/10/99 11:09 AM actually it was kinda neat. *giggle*
Kadi 7/10/99 11:10 AM *listen*
Yancey 7/10/99 11:10 AM yeah. i was shopping, and i met her.
Kadi 7/10/99 11:10 AM nod
Yancey 7/10/99 11:10 AM and she was, as usual, trying to persuade me
to come over there to have dinner.
Kadi 7/10/99 11:10 AM of course.
Yancey 7/10/99 11:10 AM and i was all squirmy and trying to get out of
it, and after a while she seemed to have given
up.
Yancey 7/10/99 11:11 AM anyway, she was done shopping before i was,
and she asked me if she could borrow my
sunglasses that i always keep in the car.
Yancey 7/10/99 11:11 AM so she borrowed my car keys.
Kadi 7/10/99 11:12 AM so you couldn't.. get home?
Yancey 7/10/99 11:12 AM nope. but when i got down there, HER car was
where my car had been. keys in the ignition,
with a little note saying:
See you at dinner.
