Pictures
We cleaned up in the computer room last night and took a few pictures. They turned out pretty well, but none of them actually capture the room fully.
See the rest of the pictures here.
I also went through our receipts tonight and added up how much we actually spent.. not counting things like paint rollers and miter boxes and other things we bought to complete this but will be used again in other projects. Total cost, with tax: $115. Almost half of that was the trim at the top but I consider it well worth it. I am really proud of us for sticking with it. We had a lot of opportunities to cheat just to get done, but we didn't. And.. perhaps I shouldn't say so myself since it is my own room.. but it looks incredibly good. The pictures do not do it justice.
In other news, M got his new schedule today, one which I have christened the Ass Schedule. This schedule was obviously written under the influence of a great deal of crack, and the long and short of it is that effective March 11, he will be working all Saturdays and Sundays. Thursdays and Fridays off, which is flipping convenient since my every-other-week day off is Monday. Great.
I have also been planning to have a big family dinner here on a Sunday and everyone will come here instead of us driving up there. Since M is working Sundays for the foreseeable future, that means that we have to do the big family thing this weekend. And that's not a problem, exactly, because they'll understand that we still have boxes, but I really wanted to have more done before then. We'll have the rest of the week, and Saturday, to work on it, but still. I'm looking forward to Monday, when hopefully I can sit down and do nothing all day long.

The crack-ass scheduler sucks eggs. We have one here too. Ken hasn't had a weekend off for months. There's something just wrong about that, and we don't even have a big family to invite over to see all of our slave labor over new digs. Enjoy them this weekend.

(Anonymous) 2006-03-02 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)There IS something wrong about not having weekends off. I hope that Ken's schedule stops sucking, too. I think, if I remember what you've said about it before correctly, that he has one even worse than M, but I can definitely sympathize with you.

That SUCKS, though, about M's schedule. What kind of lousy situation is THAT! I'm sorry you have to work through something icky like that.

I'm hoping that the schedule won't be for too long. I can always hope...
