No doubt about it, having children really opens your eyes to the kind of world you're bringing them into. But I'm a firm believer that the wonderful humanitarian or ordinary, everyday acts of kindness/generosity don't sell newspapers or make headlines thus the bad is unjustly overrepresented in the media.
I'm a professional worrier, so I can't tell you it's wrong, but you just need to bounce those thoughts off others to know what are legitimate concerns and what is an overactive imagination. I'd say the worrying is the biggest change in me since I had kids (mostly health issues).
