I was always afraid Erik would choke, too. Still sort of am even though we don't eat in the car. The Eddie Bauer mirror that attaches to the back seat is actually pretty helpful so you can see back there. It comes out on an arm thing so you can adjust it.
BC pills are the devil! Mike threw mine away less than two weeks after I started them, they were making me so crazyh.
I'm really glad you are getting to see your neice more.
