same_skyThis has to be a quick post because M is off entertaining the sproglet, but she is getting hungry and ready for her mama. It's not that I don't enjoy feeding her, but if I didn't steal a minute after her bath and before her super-long feeding, I would be off to bed without posting and we can't have that! She likes to eat for a really long time before bed. Sunday night it was fifty minutes, though that one was kind of extreme. Since she sleeps for a long time at night, I don't complain. As she has started doing that regularly, she has also started eating closer to an hour and a half instead of two hours apart. I would so rather feed her all day long than be up all night feeding her so I don't mind that so much either. I actually like the frequent feedings. I love breastfeeding. I love it so much more now that the stress of going back to work has been lifted. I was dreading the orchestration of pumping and feeding so much that it was putting a real strain on my feelings about breastfeeding. I don't know how to explain that--I liked it then but now that I am FREE again, I can really revel in the knowledge that I am feeding a human being with my own body. It's hokey to talk about but it does mean a lot.. especially to someone who is already down on her body not working like it's supposed to with regard to reproduction.
That was about three tangents I didn't mean to go down today. Oops.
A while back, I bought a lot of diapers from a seconds store. They're new, but the manufacturer decided that they weren't perfect for one reason or another. Elastic was mentioned as a possible defect that you could receive, but I really didn't expect that to mean that a diaper could be unusable due to having basically no elastic in the legs. All sales are final, so I didn't bother contacting them.. but today I fixed the darned thing. I ripped the leg seams and elastic out on both sides, sewed the elastic back in and then put a new seam back in it. I feel so freaking Martha Stewart! It fits her really well now. Better than the others, in fact, because I made the elastic tighter than they usually do.
Baby is screaming and I am feeling too guilty to continue posting, must run.
