I am feeling a little wee bit exhausted. I have been cleaning like crazy, though am getting less done than I'm accustomed to. I have a few more interruptions than I used to! My mommy came down Tuesday night and stayed the night, and we tackled the sunroom/guest room yesterday. It looks great! It's just too bad we never made it out of that room because it's a relatively small part of my house! Ugh. I can't believe I am writing about housework. I think the pledge fumes are getting to me. People keep telling me that they're coming to visit, not to look at how clean the house is. Still, I figure that I've had seven years to clean the place up so it should be done by now... ;)

Anyway! My little girl had a birthday yesterday and is now four months old! I'm sure she'll want to post about the month in review, if she ever gets time. Lot of other stuff to do when you're a baby, you know. Her four-month doctor appointment was also yesterday. They gave her three nasty shots, which made her pretty cranky a couple of times yesterday, but mostly, she was really good. She is 16 pounds, 11 ounces, 26.25 inches and 95 percentile for both height and weight (up from 90th percentile at two months.) The doctor proclaimed her perfect, and her only instructions were for me to enjoy her. I saw the same one I saw at two weeks, when she swore that her eyes wouldn't stay blue, but turn brown (which is genetically unlikely). She actually made a comment about how very blue her eyes were, and how they would stay that way. Hehe. My mom and I just grinned at each other behind her back. I really like her, even if she was wrong about her eye color, and when her cord would fall off. I get the feeling she's slightly crunchier than some other pediatricians, maybe. M says I just like her because she thinks my cloth diapers are cool. I mean, Evelyn's cloth diapers. Oh hush. It's a really weird hobby I've got these days. I am really jonesing to get into my almost fully cleaned sewing room (aka dining room) and get some stuff done, but I'm trying to resist.

I didn't tell you that she did the cutest thing ever! Last week, she was fussing while we were sitting on the couch. She was sleepy but fighting it. I started kissing her all over her face in the hopes of distracting her for a minute, and she closed her eyes and her mouth quirked up and she just looked very very pleased, so I kept kissing her. It was a hardship, yo, but I made myself keep at it. ;) AND THEN SHE FELL ASLEEP! It was soooo cute. Mommy's kisses lulled her to sleep! It has actually worked twice now. She doesn't fall deeply asleep but it's still so sweet.

Heh... at his 6 month, the doctor told me "keep doing whatever it is you're doing". Gotta love those responses. :-)

God I am clearly overtired because I saw that mention of her birthday and freaked out thinking she had turned one and I'd missed it :)

Hi :)

I bet they learned to say these things in Positive Parental Reinforcement 101, but I still like hearing them! :)
