NaNoWriMo Completion

I have the distinct pleasure of informing my dear readers that I have just finished my first novel. This has been one long-ass month, and it is with great relief and even greater happiness and bouncy goodness that I announce that I have finally conquered my NaNoWriMo foe.

Thank you to everyone who has offered kind words of support along the way. You believed in me (or not, but you at least lied and assured me that I could do it) when I wasn't so sure that I could squeeze out one more word, and I'm very grateful for that.

And now, if you don't mind, I'll take myself off to do anything else in the whole freaking world than type one more word. (But in this case, it happens to be a celebratory dinner at our favorite Chinese restaraunt.)

Congratulations! That is a truly amazing accomplishment!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! *hugs*

That is fantastic news - finally, some more interesting posts....

Hehe, just teasing! I've loved reading about your progress. Now I can't wait to read the book - share share share share share!!!!!!!!!! :)

*hugs* And *whap*, for that crack about more interesting posts. :) I've been beaming wildly all evening. :) It's a good day. :) You can tell that by the way I put a smiley after each and every sentence. :) Usually, I make sure there's at least one sentence that doesn't require a smile. :) But not tonight! :)

Nice to have smiley freedom like that :) I feel the guilt of too many smileys sometimes too - to be so carefree is great! (an exclamation mark is sometimes a good replacement for one when you know you have to have one without a smiley) Have a lovely chinese dinner!! Is M done too?

[identity profile] same-sky.livejournal.com 2003-11-29 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
We're done with the dinner, as well as some bookstore browsing. It was delicious, thanks. :)

Poor M tuckered out. He needs something like 20,000 more words, so it's doubtful he'll finish in November. He's still working on his book, though. Well, kinda. He's been taking a break, but he worked on it again today, and he swears he's going to start writing again now.

Aah, well, I hope you're not rubbing it in his face ;) Hopefully he can share in your happiness, and in the profits from the sales :)

Well done!

I'm not gonna count my chickens too soon; *I* wouldn't buy this piece of crap as it is. :)

Thanks muchly. :) He's pretty excited, too. :)

Congratulations! I thought about doing Nanowrimo this year but couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe next year. I'm in awe of all the people who did do it.

[identity profile] same-sky.livejournal.com 2003-11-29 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! It was hard work but I'm glad I did it. At the moment, the idea of doing Nano next year makes me queasy, but I can see myself changing my mind next year. :)

Congrats! Feels great, doesn't it?

[identity profile] same-sky.livejournal.com 2003-11-30 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It feels incredibly nice! I can't believe I haven't done this before.

Congratulations and hurray for you! :) Is the novel actually finished or is the word count goal for NaNo? *curious*

[identity profile] same-sky.livejournal.com 2003-11-30 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
The novel is finished. :) One of the category romances that the story will fit has 50,000 as a word count, and so I decided to just go for that. If it edits well (I plan on doing that in January and March) I'll send it off to them, depending on how the word count ends up then.

Thank you. :)

Way to go! Is M miffed at being pipped at the post :)

Do we get to read this masterpiece?

[identity profile] same-sky.livejournal.com 2003-11-30 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. :) No, M is a little jealous but he's mostly just really excited and happy for me.

Absolutely not, no one is reading it. ;) Maybe when I get the thing edited.. right now it's the most horrible piece of crap ever. But at least I'm not blind to its many many flaws.. that's a start. :)
