Your First House Fixing Up is so much like what we went through. :) We slept in the diningroom for six months because of sanding hardwood floors (maybe that should be "six months because of NOT sanding") and it's fun. :)
Once the bug bites you, you may as well start a budget for it.. we ended up with an 1,800 gallon hand-dug koi pond and new terracing with retaining walls before we were "finished." And I'm sure we only "finished" because we sold the place and moved out here (where plants are free).
If you're not reading mine (no idea, just saying) we're painting like crazy, so hooray for the satisfaction of "look what I made!" and standing around staring at the house in awe all because of some elbow grease. :)
