I bought Evelyn an easel at IKEA a few weeks ago, and she really does enjoy playing with it. It has a dry erase board on one side, and (dummy that I am) I showed her how to use the markers on it. And, she immediately started marking up the wooden frame. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. I would ask why kids feel the need to DO that kind of thing but honestly, it's not really something that she's doing on purpose, usually, and I know it. But why do they make them with that unfinished/light wood frame? Don't they know or care how it's going to look? So I hadn't had the thing for two days and I was already trying to figure out if I should like, paint it dark purple or something, and then add some sort of shiny sealer so I could wipe it off in the future. And I know I will never get around to doing that but I HATE how it looks with marker all over it.

I don't let her mix her Play-doh either... even though my very favorite thing to do with Play-Doh is to create new colors. I usually only do recovery work, but I have created some very lovely colors. I don't let her mix those either.

I know, I'm a mean Mommy.

Last week, I ran across a good deal on a Wii Game (Guitar Hero Aerosmith for $9.99, free shipping, at newegg) and I thought... I'll go ahead and buy that and save it for M for Christmas! I felt so darned clever. M loves Guitar Hero and the price was more than right. And so... I bought it! Two days later, I wake up in the morning and suddenly have this glimmer of recognition about maybe possibly having PERHAPS BOUGHT IT FOR HIM ALREADY. And the longer I thought about it, the more I felt sickeningly sure that I had already done just that. So, I went to check and sure enough, there it was on the shelf. After I saw it, I clearly remembered buying it during another good deal, though not quite as good a deal as this one, and M played it and we talked about it and... well, anyway. The point here is that I am apparently a moron, a fact emphasized by the package that arrived in the mail today and is currently sitting on my desk. Ebay, here I come. How could I possibly buy the same game with no memory of it? I am pretty well known for my stupid memory and its attention to detail. I fear I am getting old.

Okay. I had to stop typing just there because M was putting Evie to sleep and just as he got her to sleep, she threw up. So, I guess that I will be staying home tomorrow--I had been thinking of going up to see my parents, or maybe shopping with my couponing friend. We're still hoping it was a fluke. Please let it be a fluke. She's only had one stomach bug before, back in January, and it was awful.

And I apparently have nothing else to say, so I shall stop trying to say it and click "post".
