When we used to go down the street to the next corner to wait for the bus, two of the moms there had kids in ballet and they complained often about the cost. It wasn't just the cost of the class but then each recital required two costumes, which they had to buy from a certain place for an additional $300 or something totally outrageous like that. Even just for regular class, they had extremely strict rules about the type and color of leotard, slippers, etc. Crazy.
