Thursday afternoon
May. 8th, 2003 04:06 pmI kind of forgot to write anything yesterday, so I guess I should say something today. Hmm. Not feeling particularly wordy, though.
I fell asleep very early last night. We watched Good Eats, and pretty much as soon as it was over (9:30) I crawled up in M's lap and fell asleep. He got up, cooked for a while (sandwiches for lunch) and then got the sheets out of the dryer and put them on the bed before he woke me up to ask if it was late enough yet for me to go to bed. *laugh* I kept saying that it was too early to go to bed. ;)
I'm afraid that this sheep is going to become A Thing. I've carried it around the house with me since he gave it to me, and we've discussed its name a ridiculous amount. I believe we've settled on Harvey. The other possibility was Morris. My mother requested that she be allowed to name our children..rofl. I took pictures of teaching Harvey to tat last night. M asks me how Harvey is when he calls me during the day. In short, who needs kids when we have a sheep? ;) It suits our sense of silliness, though.
My cousin called me the other night and wanted to know if I would walk him through reinstalling WinME. I said, unequivocably, "NO." I also don't feel at all bad about it. You might remember a while back that we spent several days working on his computer. He pestered me for weeks about when we'd come do some upgrades. We finally went up there to do it for him and ended up bringing it home to let it chew away at formatting. (It was doing some sort of weird error thing.) I got up the next morning and installed stuff for him and we took it up there that night to plug up and install printers and such. The modem was no longer working--it was, btw, OUR modem--so they had to go buy a new one, so we went up the next night to work on THAT. This was just three or four weeks ago at most. So when he called to get help going BACK to WinME, I snapped. :) I'm not his personal technician! He called last night with a question about the modem and I replied, "Read your manual." Turns out that his problem is that Win2000 is "harder" and "takes longer to boot". Harder? Wtf? What is he doing that's harder?! He plays games, chats and looks for porn, for goodness sake! And how many times per day does he start the thing, anyway?!
Anyway. I think I'm going to go clean a little bit and work out my frustrations.. hehe. :)

Date: 2003-05-08 03:55 pm (UTC)I'm also supposed to build a site (he has an old car collection) for my father-in-law. He asked me/us to do it when we were in Sweden the last time. Magnus took a bunch of pictures, I came home and worried myself over it until I got the design done.
Now it's a year later and I'm still waiting for content. He still talks about it, though. He even sent a CD with pictures last month. No content visible anywhere on the horizon. *grin* Figures, huh? :)

Date: 2003-05-08 07:35 pm (UTC)I hear you! It's a rare occurrence for me to wake up in the morning without an ICQ message from one of my brothers asking for PC support or programming/database help. At one point I was thinking of buying this t-shirt in protest. ;-)
