Why don't sleepy girls go to bed?

We filed our immigration crap this morning. (I-751, removal of conditions from greencard.) We usually work extremely well together, but this morning, neither of us were functioning all that efficiently. We went to make copies but they were closed, so we went to the library, where we immediately had a paperjam, and on the way to the post office, we remember that we need a check but can't remember how much for (turned out to be $145, ugh) and also realized that we had forgotten both the address and an envelope. When we get home, I write the check and address an envelope, only to check the website to see that all checks should be made payable to the BCIS, and sent to a different address, so I had to write the envelope again, though I messed up three in a row writing the wrong PO box number, and then noticed that we needed another copy, so we had to stop at the library again, and then when we get to the post office, we realize we should use one of their envelopes, and we get to the counter and she hands us another form to take back and fill out and get back in line.. This stuff just kept happening! Nothing majorly wrong, just a day filled with minor irritations, like the grocery shopping trip where we didn't buy any food. So we stayed home the rest of the day and things have gone much more smoothly. But at least we finally did get the immigration stuff sent. Today's the first day we were allowed to file, though I guess we could have sent the stuff off on Thursday so it would arrive today. Hopefully, two days won't make much of a difference, though. *crossing fingers*

We went to McDonald's for lunch (we were celebrating, perhaps) and I saw a friend from high school working. She started there when she was in high school and is still there.. and in the meantime, she's gotten a degree in finance. And it's not at all that I don't want her to have a good job.. but it rather made me feel a little better that it's not just me selling fruit. But, as she said.. she didn't want to move and couldn't find much of a job around here doing anything else. M and I think we should perhaps befriend her again and then set her up with Blatt. We really, really need more single female friends in the Morehead area. We'll thrust her into a painful long-distance relationship with a Swede for our own personal gain in order to have someone in vicinity to go to dinner with occasionally! Anyone want to apply for the position? No?

I finished my third scrapbook layout tonight, and I'm rather pleased with it. It's not the most special thing I've ever seen, but I think it turned out cutely, and each one has been better than the one before, so I'm not expecting perfection quite yet. The night's theme was Harvey's first picnic to the lake. Harvey, you might remember, is our pet sheep. (Others might replace "pet" with "stuffed", but we think that undermine's Harvey's role in this family.) We've sort of taken the idea and ran with it.. you should see the pictures of Harvey learning to tat, or snuggled into the couch reading a book..

My eyes are falling closed, so I believe it's time to get the boy person to take me to bed. Night night. And welcome to LJ, tarynfogle!

It is, actually. Well, sorta. The Wallace & Gromit guy/people is responsible for the Serta mattress sheep as well. I love it all.

I will, just as soon as I get them completely finished. I got two almost done this weekend, but they need some finishing touches, and I have to get the materials to make them. But soon!
