I made an executive decision to stay at home all day today. I've felt so blah all week that I didn't feel like losing a single bit of my weekend time visiting with family. I make it sound like M has no choice in what we do in this household, don't I? He's just generally agreeable, and it's not like he's jonesing to spend more time with my family, hehe. :) It's been extremely enjoyable. I even played a computer game for a while. Diablo, of all things. I'm a little behind the times, I guess. And watched a movie (while tatting).. Pleasantville. Very odd movie, that. Yep, behind the times on movies, too.. in general, any time you watch something on TNT, you're running a little behind. I was considering watching Pay It Forward (network television premiere! tonight! do you have any idea how many commercials there were for this Glorious Event in two hours?) tonight but as it happens, Men In Black is coming on on another channel, and my hubby will watch that one with me. And yes, I've actually seen it. I might be running behind but I am still living in this century.

Speaking of which, M has been making fun of me again. I figure someone will either be amused by this or want to take a heavy stick to my head, so I'll share it with the world. He wakes me up in the morning, and a couple of weeks ago, he said in a half sing-song voice, "Here comes the sun, doodn-do-do" before flipping my lamp on. I thought it was cute and whined the next morning when he didn't sing it, so he's continued with it. We talked about it yesterday, and you know, it turns out that he didn't actually make that up! *vacant stare* Erm. Yeah. Not so big on popular culture.

Eeek! We're ice-cream-less. And the movie starts in 15 minutes! *giggle* Hubby is so cute. Distressed by the possibility of a milkshakeless evening, he runs out the door to go get ice cream. Oops, I said "hubby". Have been trying to avoid it since it bothers [livejournal.com profile] galestorm. *grin* Anyway, it's not actually that we can't go an evening without ice cream.. we don't even have it all that often. But we'd talked about it earlier, that we should go get some. He still has blueberries to use. It drives me batty to miss the beginning of a movie, but it really doesn't bother him, so no big loss if he doesn't get back quite in time. He's constantly saying, "I've seen part of it. Maybe in an airplane. Or when I was drunk." It can be dreadfully annoying. Like when I made him watch Dirty Dancing (yes, the best movie ever made) with me. He'd said he had never seen it. After it was over, I was beaming with the joy of sharing such a delightful movie event with someone and he says, "Oh, yeah, I've seen this." That's when I bitchslapped him. Well, no, I didn't, but it would have made the story better. Or at least more violent.

*LOL!!* You are hysterical. "I bitchslapped him" That is the funniest line in LJ so far, regardless of the fact that you made it up :)

Haha, I had to laugh out loud when I read that too!

Perhaps I should just make up stuff more often. It seemed to go over well. *giggle* Thanks!

Totally off topic.. I just had to say that it's your fault I'm eating so many potatoes lately. Your description of them a few days ago made me go buy some. Yum! :)

Sorry about that! I've had that for dinner three times in the last four days. Perhaps I should stop soon (especially considering that there were potato products at three other meals during that time.) I do love taters.

If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea about that "here comes the sun" reference. I'm not very good at pop culture unless it involves Jerry Seinfeld.

He was singing the Beatles song. :)

Hehe. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that you're also that way. I have this gaping hole of media information that continually surprises Magnus. He seems to think that I should be able to know at least something about the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, for some reason. ;)

Awwww... You remembered. :)

Actually, it got cancelled out by the bitchslap line. :)

I'll have to remember that for the future. *grin* Yep, I remembered because I know that I use the word. It took me a while to get comfortable with it myself, but then it became habit. I can see your point, though. I try to keep it to a minimum, at least. ;)

I'm not sure I like this popularity of me being slapped!
