[livejournal.com profile] totte has hit a crucial stage in his livejournal development--he now is reading his own friends list instead of mine. *giggle* I like it that he's gotten bitten by the LJ bug, somehow. I just wish that he'd post more. *hint hint*

I can't believe how productive we've been today. I was up at 8 and M was up by 9. By 10:30, we were hard at work cleaning the house. (It's not completely unheard of for us to be still asleep at 10:30 on Sundays.) It really has needed it for a while, and I don't feel too horrible about admitting it. I've tried to keep it reasonably straightened, but an occasional quick dusting and vacuuming just didn't cover the actual dirt hiding in corners. We've both felt sneezy in the mornings lately as well, so we thought a good cleaning might help. I don't know if it will or not, but the whole place sure looks and smells nice. I actually was thinking of a normal dust-straighten-vacuum when I suggested cleaning today, but somehow we really went with the idea and ended up cleaning the stuff behind the glass in the bookcase and polishing the silver bowl (it looks so nice when it's silver instead of kinda black!) and all that stuff. I really love the way our bookcase has three glass shelves with double doors, especially since we installed two spotlights in the top. It looks quite good. I really do NOT love the dust that it collects. Anyway. M even cleaned the air filters in the air conditioner, so we were super good boys and girls and therefore we ate at Wendy's. :) I wanted to make a good dinner, but was tired of the concept of work by the time afternoon rolled around. We worked for about five hours nonstop. That's quite a bit of cleaning for less than 800 square feet (and we didn't even really touch the master bedroom, which is our computer room, yes, we're geeks who sleep in a room the size of a closet so we can have plenty of space for our toys.)

The bad part now, of course, is that it's Monday tomorrow and that means going to work. I believe I might have mentioned before that I don't care much for that. I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of the weekend, at least. It's been nice. It's also nice having Wednesdays off because I never have to work more than two days in a row.

There's hopelessly nothing on television. I rather wanted to go sit in there and tat while watching TV, but I don't want to do it while watching Authentic Hip-Hop, Pat Sajak Weekend, QVC (which was honestly the most intelligent thing on last night, when I finally got up and announced that I was literally embarrassed to watch the stupidity that was Saturday night television), The Man Show, Tattoo Crazy, Voice of Revival, LL Bean Guide to the Outdoors or Girls Behaving Badly, all of which are on in their glorious splendor, according to our local TV Listings. And that's not counting the brilliance that is the Golf channel. In any case, time to go make a valiant attempt at finding something decent to see. (Refuse to have spent all day cleaning, mostly in the livingroom, only to sit around tonight in the only room that we didn't clean.)

Wow! Spring cleaning in autumn. Does that mean you guys are early or late? My place is available if you feel the urge to extend the cleaning phase. I'll save it up till you get to Sweden, to give you a real challenge.

Hmmm...television! Don't get me started *prepares to get out soapbox* Hey, [livejournal.com profile] totte come back with my soapbox!

I think that in the past, television used to just suck. Now with the advent of cable and hundreds of channels, it sucks in newer and better ways and it sucks across a much larger spectrum. Ahhh...progress!

That sounds SO much like something Magnus would say I could almost believe you had snatched it from one of his previous journal entries or something. Well, not that I think you did, but you could have.

Really, don't save any cleaning on our account. I wouldn't want to deprive you of anything so joyous as cleaning!

(yep, found a couple of entries I forgot to reply to comments on. correcting my slacker tendencies tonight..)

But I always reserve the right to complain! No fair going back on the deal--you knew that when you married me!

(I'm really enjoying all these hubby-posts!)
