I got the following email from my ever-so-kind totte. I reminded him that he was supposed to convince me that I was doing the right thing by staying home (yep, sick.) Here's what he said:

Of course you shouldn’t stay home, you dork. I’m sure your parents will agree that hard, physical work in an uncomfortable and overly warm setting is just what you need to get well. I’m also sure that it’s a great way to get customers to want to come back, to have an obviously sick person behind the counter, touching their food and handling money and things. And you feeling miserable has no bearing on anything. You should just go down there and suffer, cause life is hard, and you should never ever take any steps to make it sensible and bearable.

One of my favorite things about M is his ability to turn my silly worrying around until it sounds completely ridiculous. Well. It's usually one of my favorite things, anyway. It can be extremely annoying at times, I must say. :)

I wonder if these Swedish men who marry us "damn foreigners" are ALL the same. The more I learn about totte, the more like tallefjant he becomes. And the less like a "typical Swede".
