same_skyHaving a great birthday so far--thanks for all the happy wishes from my delightful friends. :) I think we're going to go to the majorly exciting world of Walmart in a few minutes, but we're taking a few minutes to sit down and relax first. I got to open all my presents after lunch (we went to Pizza Hut) and so I'm very happy with my stack of books--I've never had such a bookish holiday. I'll go into more detail later tonight when I have a little more time because I know how it irritates some people when one doesn't go into more detail when they mention books. ;) I also got the first season of Friends on dvd, and three card games. Also, the inlaws bought me a diamond pendant. My parents have yet to deliver on the goods, but she called a few minutes ago to say she was working on some surprises, so that sounds fun. :) Like I said, more on the loot later.
I'm currently very impressed with Staples. I ordered a dvd burner for M yesterday afternoon from them--free shipping. It arrived today. Incredible. The closest Staples is seventy miles away, although this was shipped from Ohio anyway. (By the way, it's $50, after discount and rebate. here.) I'm letting him have it early because I'm a major pushover. I really like buying him stuff. In this case, though, I just don't see the point of letting computer equipment languish in storage for two more months before he can use it--especially not when he's been needing one a lot lately. (We have over one gigabyte of pictures from April, for one thing.) Besides, I need the UPC for the rebate.
Anyway. I guess I should get my ducks in a row so we can get out of here. I also need to figure out if we have everything we need for garlic chicken and parmesan potatoes before we leave. And we just might go to Big Lots and a shoe store before we come home.. more excitement in one day than I could ever hope for! :)
