My new bank gives checks with carbon copy duplicates seemingly by default. I sure didn't ask for it, anyway. The checks are cheap, too--less than nine bucks, whereas I paid $16 the last time I ordered the default checks from the old bank. Don't get me wrong, it's nice that I'm paying less and getting more.. but I really don't care for having duplicate checks. Actually, I actively dislike it. It doesn't really take any time out of my life to write the amount in the ledger when I write a check, and I don't like fiddling with the extra sheets. You know me; picky with my paper as always. I just don't like having my purchasing habits floating around in the dumpster for anyone to see.

I've been rather productive today. I reached my work goal of the day--not even worth going into--just before I came home, and I did a bit of catching up with MM administrative goop, and some laundry and housework and bill paying this evening. M picked up most of the junk today but.. well, you know. Some of it is just my stuff to deal with. We were pretty busy this weekend so it all piled up. I would give my pinky toenail for another day off to catch up on some more stuff. This is significant if you know how paranoid I am about my toenails. They're so ugly already. Until approximately last year, I refused to wear sandals without polishing them. I guess that's my little vanity, because I always thought I had nice-looking feet and cute toes, but hideous toenails. Relatively nice-looking, of course--no one has really attractive feet. That's just the nature of feet.

I'm still feeling a little.. off, so toenails are the best I can do tonight. At least I'm not talking about the stupid VCR's newest interpretation of the word "record".

You have a toenail thing? No way! When I was younger I used to pull off my toenails b/c I hated them so much. It was really stupid b/c then it was just an ugly painful mess but I couldn't help it.

I never pulled them off without a reason, but a few of them got smashed at various times and fell off (nearly) on their own, so they were ugly. They remained ugly even after they grew back in. Maybe our similarities stem from the trauma of growing up anti-toenail. Not that there really is any particular trauma, but it sounds dramatic enough.
