Okay, so we've lived here for 51 days now and I'm finally getting around to posting a few pictures of the inside of the place. We did a bit of work this weekend and put away a lot of the stuff that was left sitting out, but keep in mind that we're not totally finished.

Click the thumbnail to go to the full gallery--I'm much too lazy for posting every picture here. Oh, and the larger photos do have captions, if you don't want to miss any of the stellar commentary.
It's been extra nice to have three full days off from work, but I do wish I had one more day. I think I'm just angsting because tomorrow is the first day that I won't have an hour lunch. Knowing that I'll have two more three-day weekends this month because of that half hour per day helps, but still. I'll miss coming home to see M at lunchtime, and taking my shoes off for 35 minutes isn't bad, either. Oh well. I'll be okay, I'm sure, and it could be worse. Much, much worse--M was gone 11 hours a day when he worked at the evil evil place, and he hated it there. I'm doing pretty good, especially in comparison.
My parents came down today, rather out of the blue. It was funny timing, considering that we've been up there twice this weekend, but still nice. We didn't do much.. just hung around the house and then went out for dinner. Their company left this morning, and I think Mom wanted to get out of the house for a while. It was a man that Dad used to work with and his wife, plus his son and daughter-in-law and their youngest daughter. The little girl was about five or six, and she had totally fallen in love with my dad. She followed Mr. Greg around everywhere, even when he, say, walked outside to dump a bucket of water. It was soo cute.
Anyway, I guess avoiding bedtime won't help me be less sleepy tomorrow, so might as well head to bed. It's been a pretty nice weekend.. hate to see it go.

And I'm sure you'll adjust to the shorter lunch "hour" easily and really learn to appreciate that extra time off :)

Date: 2004-07-06 07:45 pm (UTC)We often say the same thing about the books.. it's ridiculous, really. I'm going to get rid of some of them. .. Eventually.

Date: 2004-07-06 12:32 am (UTC)Your place looks fantastic!! Really, so lovely (and big!), and your things look great in it. Your matching computer area is SO cute :)
But.... what do you do with all of those knives??!!

Date: 2004-07-06 07:37 pm (UTC)Hardly use those knives, actually. The ones I use are in the drawer--they're silver and sharp as sin. M brought one set with him and we were given the other set as a wedding present. Perhaps we should introduce you to the joys of cooking so you'll know what these strange "knife" things can do... *tease*
