The Wednesday Report

First of all, congratulations to Auntie
carrieb on the arrival of one Braxton Lee!
Again, I'm just reporting in to let everyone know that I have nothing to report. M and I had a little evening outing, which was quite fun. We sat outside of Baskin Robbins and had an eyescream cone and watched people walk by. Then we ambled over to the drugstore to look around for a few minutes before strolling back to the car. I can't imagine the weather being nicer than it was tonight--sun and low humidity and a light breeze and the perfect temperature. It was really nice, actually, but not much to read about. I was disappointed beyond words because they ruined perfectly good jamocha ice cream with almond fudge. Jamocha ice cream from Baskin Robbins is strongly nostalgic, but we haven't lived anywhere close to one for years so it's been a pretty rare treat since then. It still will be, for I can't stomach paying $7 for ice cream all that often. (This is a lie, as half of $7 is clearly $3.50 each, and I routinely buy Ben & Jerry's cookie dough ice cream for that much. Still, I shall continue to kvetch about the price, because I am me and this is what I do.) I'm pretty disappointed that they didn't have it--but then again, no need to bemoan the fact that I won't be insisting on going more often. Although I have to say that M is the big ice cream eater in this household. It's hilarious how much he loves ice cream. My Swedish-connected readers are probably smiling smugly and knowingly at this point. I've never seen a people more fascinated by dairy treats than the Swedes..
Anyway, moving right along. It's hard to believe that this is Wednesday already--three day weekends are very nice. I have another one this weekend, too. It's not quite as nice as this past one, though--we have to go to Louisville for an INS interview. INS.. BCIS.. whatever. They sent us a letter requiring our presence on Monday, July 12. I just love how they schedule their appointments without consulting the other party. It was actually lucky in this case, though--it's the very first of my Mondays off. It's not like I really have the vacation time to squander yet. We've had generally good experiences with them, though. And if we hadn't--well, I wouldn't write about that either. I do have brushes with paranoia and all.
Oh! Alos, I got my first work-related phone call today. It was.. well, it was a wrong number. But at least now I know my phone works..
