Overheard in a Fitting Room

"Jenna, you shouldn't take your shoes off in a store."

"Why not?" Young girl, maybe six years old.

"If you walk around without shoes on in a store, you can get a foot disease. And do you know what happens if you get a foot disease?"

"No?"

"They might cut your toesies off."

*general shuffling around, but no comment*

"They could even have to cut your foot off if it gets bad enough."

*still no answer*

"You could get an infection from it. Remember Grandpa? He got a staph infection."

"Mmmhmmm."

"It started in his feet. "

*pause*

"Then he died."

(And they wonder what's wrong with America's youth.)
