Don't you hate it when you wake up and decide to do something that's been on your to-do list for months, and then when you do it, it totally fails and you end up worse off than when you started? (Boring Mosaic Minds stuff regarding our planning wiki, not worth going into.) Have I mentioned lately how very much I hate computers, and databases, and the internet? Bah! I did fix a bigger problem than this in the process of working on this thing that failed so miserably, though, and that will possibly allow me to get a couple of other things done. It's kind of hard to be responsible for something that so many other people are invested in. If it was just me, I'd rip the whole thing (the wiki, that is, not the site) out and install a new one, but I really, really don't want to do that to the poor staff.. they've been very patient with learning about the whole wiki thing already, so changing it on them again would make me feel bad.

We went back to Lexington when M got off work and had ourselves a little public-library-book-sale fun. A quarter for paperbacks, $1.25 for hardbacks. There were a lot of books, but we really didn't get all that many ($4.75). It was poorly organized, and as we pulled into the parking garage, we saw a sign saying that the streets were going to be closed starting at 5:45 for the Veteran's Day parade, and M got a little panicked at the idea of being stuck in traffic. (I've never seen anyone who hates standing still in a vehicle more than he does.) Also, the books weren't as good as the ones at the Morehead sale. I'm very sad about that, actually, because they're having one this weekend and we're gonna miss it unless I feel like driving up there by myself on Saturday, which I just don't think is going to happen. I do love books, though, and it's only ninety miles..

Much as expected, I didn't get much done on my day off, but it sure was fun. I read a cute little story M wrote tonight, and that was fun. I keep thinking I should mention the chicken vendor, but I don't think it would be funny if I retold it. (Seriously, though, who pulls into KFC and says, "we'll just turn around here at this fine chicken vendor."? I am, however, nagging him to tell a particular story in his journal tonight.. we'll see if it happens. I would have married him for his sense of humor if I hadn't married him for his money already.

Oh, speaking of marriage, I submit the following as evidence that I am an extremely patient wife.

M: We're dorks. We should start a club just for dorks.
K: I think we already did. It's called "marriage".
M: Oh. Yeah.
*long pause*
M: I hear Cameron Diaz is a big dork, too...

He's going to kill me for posting that.. *grin*

I thought it was really funny, too.. I guess if I hadn't, I wouldn't have posted it because I'd have been on my way back to downtown Lexington to the place that sells divorces for $91.95, though, so what do I know? :)

Oh, and thank you, re the wiki. The bug I was trying to fix was much more minor than what we've ended up with. Oh, well. We'll see.
