Tuesday night
Mar. 13th, 2002 12:11 amDidn't accomplish much of anything today. Slept late, even though I went to bed early. Spent the morning and early afternoon reading.
Papaw came home from the hospital today, and we caught them just before they left to take him home. He was at the parents, and we went up for a few minutes to see him and such. He looked much better today. Apparently, it was pneumonia after all. It didn't show up the first time because of his dehydration. He was pretty anxious to get home, though. Dad tried his best to talk him into spending the night with them, and he flatly refused.
We went to Caskey's to look for either something fun to sell on Ebay or something for me to buy in exchange for the charm we took back after Christmas (I already had one like it, and now we have a due bill, as they wouldn't give money back.) But alas, nothing particularly fun. Magnus stressed over the fact that he couldn't go look at mandolins at the guitar shop if we were going to the grocery (which is where we headed) because stuff would melt, until I gently reminded him that we could stop on the way to the grocery store instead of afterwards... which wouldn't have made sense anyway because they'd have been closed. He was very relieved, until he noticed three minutes later that he wasn't even in the mood to look at mandolins. Boys are so silly.
And more drama going on.. While the parents were at Papaw's getting him settled in, Devon had a bit of a mishap, He opened the childproof cap on a bottle of Alex's prescription cough syrup, and drank half of it. Poison Control wasn't sure what medication it was, exactly, due to the abbreviations on the bottle, so the woman sent them on to the ER and told them to call her back when they got there. Turns out that it was fine, but better safe than sorry, of course.
Magnus has his third interview tomorrow, and I suppose I'll be going with him to Lexington. Not sure where else we'll be going, but he has to stop by the office as well. He worries that I'll be too bored if I sit in the car, since he doesn't know how long things will take. But, I'll bring a book for the time he's in the office, and I'll just go to Sam's while he's at the interview, since it's so close.
I'm somewhat surprised that I'm still enjoying this journal thing. Haven't missed a day yet, even. Unusual, for me.
