Sunday night - Easter
Mar. 31st, 2002 10:07 pmToday has been very very long. We got up reasonably early, around 10. We checked mail and such.. oh yeah. Last night, we were online and then suddenly the connection died again. Very much the same thing as happened Thursday. So Magnus called the tech support people, and there was again nothing wrong with the network. So they scheduled a technician to come out on Monday, because they suspected it was the modem that was bad. An hour later, it was back up. Magnus called them this morning and they said that well, it's happened twice already so obviously something isn't working properly, and since it did come back both times it's probably the cables instead of the modem itself, so they'll just come out anyway. Which is good and bad. I don't want the thing to be broken, of course, but i also don't really want to be the only one here when the guy shows up.
Anyway. We got ready, and I called Mom to see what dinner plans were, and she was very uninterested in coordinating the cooking today, and so as far as she was concerned, we were going to Percy's. Magnus called his parents and talked for a while, and then we left and met them over at Percy's, and we had lunch. Then we went back to Papaw's, and the kids had an easter egg hunt (with plastic eggs, thankfully!) inside.. it's been raining all day. That was cute. They had such a good time with it. :)
But other than that, the day was.. well. I had a headache. The pain in itself wasn't extraordinary, but I was feeling pretty sensitive to light and noise and was just generally feeling a little out of it. The kids were screaming and playing and I was just thrilled when Heidi finally got after Casey and Cody and made them sit down and shut up for five whole blissful minutes. *giggle* When she left, I asked her if she wouldn't mind disciplining the children again, just once, before she left. *grin* It was funny, but I think you'd have to have been there.
I'm at a complete standstill on most of our website things. I need pictures for the mandolin site, and for the one for Magnus's dad as well. Also content on that one. I have our company and personal sites that are in varying degrees of redesign, but that's not really urgent. So I'm not positive where to go with my time this week.
My hair is getting long, and Magnus is loving it. I'm thinking about getting it trimmed, but my hairstylist chick tends to want to cut off much more than I think is necessary. Once I went in and asked for a trim and she cut off seven inches. *giggle* I tend to not really mind, cause it typically looks nice at the end, but I think I'll wait just a little bit longer before I go have it styled.
What was I talking about again? Oh yes, the day. Finally, people left, and we stopped playing Rook cause Aunt Rita needed to leave, my head was aching, and Magnus wanted to go to the woodshop.. we were in the middle of a game but they were ahead so I guess they won.. anyway. Magnus went to cut out the outline of his mandolin thing, but he ended up breaking the bandsaw blade. *giggle* Ooops. :) Then we left, but stopped in at Mamaw and Papaw's. My head was feeling some better by then, and their house is always quiet, so. When we finally got home it was 8ish, and it felt amazing to be here.
And, I cut Magnus's hair! Yay! It's really needed it, but it's such a hard thing to schedule. It has to be done at a time when his hair is clean (ie, not in the morning before showering) because otherwise it sticks out in all sorts of crazy directions, and he has to jump in the shower afterwards to get rid of the hair, so it can't just be before bedtime, and.. it's so hard to remember at the right time. It looks pretty good. :) If I do say so myself. :)
I'm so sleepy already, and it's just 10. I think that might be partially about my general unwellness today. Hope it's gone tomorrow.
