Monday morning

It seems that I forgot to write in my journal yesterday. Bad girl.

We went to Papaw's and spent two or three hours.. we've started leaving earlier so we have time to ourselves in the weekend at least a little. I suppose that nothing really out of the ordinary happened there, and then we came back and went to the grocery store. That was boring but pretty necessary by now. We had.. well, no food. That made it somewhat difficult to .. eat. :)

Anyway. We finished up on our page! Amazing. That's not the normal way that I do things. I come up with a neat design, and then we put off working on it for so long that I get bored with it. But anyway, this time it just took two or three days or something until it was uploaded and everything! While it was uploading, I went to cook dinner.. I made some really excellent chili. My first attempt at chili without using a seasoning packet. I must say that I did well--it was the best chili I've had in several years. Magnus agreed that it was good, but thought it was too spicy. It really *was* hot.. which is the way I like it, but I suppose I got a little carried away for his tastes. :) And.. I made enough to have leftovers! Yay! :)

So. Oh, yeah, then we had a storm. The parents called to tell us that it should be here within half an hour or so, and we were welcome to come up to the house if we wanted. We really didn't want to, but then again, we do live in a trailer, and theoretically, we *could* blow off.. hehe. Finally decided that we might as well go to visit at least, and so we spent a couple hours with the parents.

We found out that we have 12 or so new channels! Very neat! A couple of weeks ago, there was a small channel switch..some of the channels moved around. I hate it when they do that. But nice that we have new channels, at least. Also, we found one channel with a scrolling schedule. That's fun, if it stays like that. :)

Nothing much else that I can think of happened, and obviously nothing much has happened this morning yet.. we haven't quite gotten started on the day yet. Magnus is on the porch working on his mandolin project, and we haven't quite decided what we're going to do today. Probably errands.. eww. But in any case, off to get started on them!

Monday night

It's been nice to have another whole day with my baby today! We started off the day slowly, as I mentioned. After lunch, we had settled into random boredom things, and I finally suggested that we go shopping in Ashland. So we went, and had a quickie shop. :) Drove for an hour there and an hour back, and didn't stay two or three hours. But it wsa nice. We got the wedding present that's been bugging me for so long. On the off chance that the people it's for happens upon this page (unlikely but not impossible, given the circumstances) I won't mention what I got, but I will say that my parents got one of these for Magnus and me. :)

As we were leaving Ashland, I got a headache, and then carsick, and also something in my eye. The eye thing faded by the time we got home, but the headache and nausea hung around for a while. Finally my hubby made me some grilled cheese, and it started fading as I was eating.. guess I was hungry. Actually, that makes sense cause I majorly wanted to eat at four of the restaraunts that I passed on the way to the bathroom at the mall. *giggle* So now I'm feeling much better, which is good, because I was miserable earlier.

So, what else? Still need two birthday presents, and actually should look at Mother's Day while we're at it. Argh. ;) Also, I'm on the lookout for something that I want for my birthday, and also I need some shoes. Black casual-dressyish, little heel but not flats, will work with jeans or black/khaki pants. And most of all, they shouldn't hurt my feet. And they should fit. Seems like most shoes are too big in one size and too small in the next one. Oh, yes, and I want them to be way on sale. I don't ask for much, do I?

I've been repeatedly emailed viruses in the last couple of days. Also, apparently someone is using my old email address to spread worms at message boards. I got a returned message (that I didn't send, obviously) from an imperialnavy message board, bounced from a .se host, yesterday saying that I had to be a member of the message board to post, and the mail was something about how great and dangerous a certain worm was, and where I could get it. *snicker* Yep, just my thing. I've had two a day for three days..although of course I haven't opened them or anything stupid like that. Glad they're going to my zoomnet account, since it won't even be open for much longer.

I've decided that the next step in my Swedish learning should be at vocabulary again. That's where we started, sort of a joke when we began, since he was coming here for the first time in two weeks, and it was somewhat unlikely that I'd learn a language in the time before he got there. :) Anyway, we did just vocab for a while, cause grammar was hard to come up with. Then we sort of settled into a mix of words and easy verbs so I could say: Jag heter Kisha. Jag hatar havet. Then we got to the point where I was fairly decent at translating text.. with a good dictionary (or Swede) handy for the big words. Anyway, we've had long dry spells of not doing anything at all, and now suddenly my comprehension is much greater than before, and my speaking skills are...... well, let's call a horse a horse (what IS that phrase, anyway? can't think of it at the moment, so decided that a horse would do), and just say that my speaking skills are in existence now, which they weren't before. *giggle* Ahem, rambling again. Right. Point was that I've been noticing lately that my vocabulary is lagging again, so I've decided I'm going to work on it. So I'm going to read in Swedish. Had the hubby find me a book, and he brought me two comicish books. Siggers Lagun and Herbert och Hundbert. So we'll see how that goes. My handy dandy dictionary will probably get some use, at least. :)

I found a newborn baby picture in a book that I bought used on Friday. Nicholas Beatty, born 1/28/95 at 10:15 p.m., to Bill and Brittany Beatty. I don't like the idea of throwing the picture away, but what exactly am I supposed to do with it? I don't know this kid! I considered finding the people and mailing it to them, but there were lots of Bill Beattys in KY, and no one says that they're even from KY. So. Any thoughts? Besides the hopelessly unsentimental one?

Really annoyed with the fact that M will be working until 8 all this week. He doesn't go in until 10:30, but that doesn't help me, since he still leaves the house earlyish.

The Cavalier is fixed now. Dad and Magnus worked on it and finished it up tonight. Dad did most of the work on Saturday, but it needed wires replaced or something tonight. Wonder if I even mentioned that it was broken before?

Enough for tonight, I told Lisa three days ago I'd mail her tomorrow and I still haven't. It's getting embarrassing. :) Oh, and I have to start reading my new book, of course. :)
