Saturday night
Apr. 21st, 2002 12:32 amMy eyes are so tired. I'm not ready to be sleepy, though. I've been formatting and editing html and all that junk for our new page. It's coming along quickly. Sitting here realizing that I could theoretically finish it tonight. But only under optimal and unlikely conditions. Magnus hasn't finished his section, for one thing, and there are a few touch-ups here and there that need done, and there's one more section that hasn't been touched. But I just finished the pictures subpage, which was the big thing I was dreading. Have spent the last two hours or something insane like that doing grunt work.. copy paste paste paste paste paste paste paste paste save all closeall open all in dir paste paste paste.. etc. Tried doing it with find and replace, but the files weren't exactly the same, apparently. I've also crashed my computer three times doing that. Lovely.
I need to learn to sit better in my chair. I can't even sit down anymore without sitting cross-legged. Which is fine, until late, when I can't get comfy no matter which way I sit, because my legs are tired of being folded up. :)
It was neat today. Magnus called me to let me know he was on his way home, and then we remembered that it was Saturday and we didn't have to hang up because of wasting minutes, so we talked almost all the time he was on the way home. Hung up when he was.. 15 miles from Morehead or something. Interstate driving. It was neat. :) We've decided that we can do that on Saturdays whenever we want. Only his ears started burning from the phone. *giggle*
We also ordered pizza for dinner from Papa John's, and it was really good. Perfect for the evening. We started talking about how long it had been since we had done that. You could certainly say a long time--we ordered pizza when we were moving in down here at the new location. That was nine months ago or something. Crazy! I think it's more about deciding that if we're going to spend the money on eating out, we might as well have the atmosphere of eating out. But sometimes it's really great to have pizza brought to the door. Oh, and when I called to order it, I completely forgot our phone number. *giggle* I told her, and then she asked me again and repeated a number that was wrong, and then I absolutely could not remember what it was. It was tremendously embarrassing.
Today was Mamaw's birthday (and obviously now you know it was Lisa's too!) and the parents took her and Papaw (and me and Whitley) out to Shoney's for lunch. Then we stopped at Grandview, and ended up staying for AGES. But! I shopped well! They're sort of a discount junk store. Gilliam's Discount wanna-be, so to speak. *giggle* They buy pallet junk.. like from a store's returns and sell it cheap. Supposedly. The problem with them typically is that they price their substandard quality merchandise at normal retail or above prices. Anyway, though, they were having a 50% off sale, and so we went there yesterday, but didn't buy anything because we were under the impression that everything was already half off and priced accordingly. Also, we weren't really in the mood for it, I think. Anyway, I bought two Michael Graves clocks for $2.50 (we were somewhat obsessed with the design of some of his stuff before.. carried at Target.. but finally decided to calm down and not buy everything just because it looked neat. :) Anyway, and a chair for $7.50 for the third computer thingie in the corner. Dad's ebay chair, I called it. Anyway, it's really sturdy and nice looking, and so I figure I got quite a deal.
You can see the clocks here, unless Target changes their internal links.. can't guarantee that they'll be here:
Frosted glass clock
Chrome clock
Anyway. I'm still fighting sleepiness so I guess it's time to go to bed. :) Night night!
