My hubby is now going to do a journal! It's so funny because I've been talking about how neat that would be, but he's been uninterested. But last night he decided he wanted to give it a try. Looking forward to that. Like I've mentioned before, it's almost like doing the email thing before we were married and together.

So. With all the excitement of M's journal last night, I forgot to post in my own. Oh well. Yesterday I was a little productive. I made lots of lists and decided on things to do, and then I went to *a place* (can't mention yet) to buy birthday presents for both Lisa and Kina and stopped at Coffeetree (bookstore and coffee shop) to pick up a card for the wedding present thing. Other than that, nothing much exciting happened. I washed my older Vera Bradley purse and I'm thinking about switching to it. It's yellow and springy feeling, and I'm freaking sick of the way my current purse slides off my shoulder.

I've decided, I think, that the comic books won't do. I'm more interested in building vocabulary and learning words in context is a major part of that. Comics tend to be full of word jokes and such, and are dependent on all the words. It's not just about looking up every single word.. then there are the problems of idioms and stuff that I can't just look up. So I'm back to the drawing board about that. I think I'll look for a nice book when we're in Sweden next month.

Still can't believe we're going.

The convertible guy came and picked up his car yesterday (they had to get one from Nashville). He has some good prospects of selling another car or two, as well. That's good. :)

I started an extremely complicated cross-stitch thingie today. I have a little less than three weeks to finish it, ideally. It's a nice tea cup that says Mother.. the plan is to give it to Mom for Mother's Day. I've no clue if this is an attainable goal, but I'm going to try. I bought at the end of December, planning on doing it for her birthday (Jan 5) and as soon as I opened it, I put it back knowing there was no way it'd get done. As for now.. well, I wish I'd started it earlier. :)

My monitor has been flickering lately, and I'm not sure what that's about. It's bugging me, though, particularly since I'd really rather not have to replace a monitor. I just now switched it back to 1024 x 768, we'll see if that helps. It really shouldn't be the cause, it's been 1152 x 864 for.. well, years. Kind of funny because it feels like I went to 640 x 480 or something. Everything is huge! Oh, and I'm still getting those freaking viruses. What's WITH that?

I seem to be flirting with heartburn, which is uncool. I never used to get that. Sucky. I must be getting old.

Today has been.. busy. After lunch, I ended up working on the little room somehow. I didn't actually mean to. I meant to go in and get wrapping paper materials, for birthday presents and to shipping-proof the wedding present. I do hope it makes it intact. Anyway, I scratched my leg on a picture frame and then I stepped on an extension cord heap, which is unpleasant with bare feet. So I decided to arrange a walking path into and out of the room--we haven't actually been able to close the door for months. Anyway, I ended up doing much better than I had expected. Things are bagged, boxed, stacked, and organized much better now. I moved that stupid car jack that's always been painfully in the way to under the bed, and put the ironing board under the couch. We hardly use it anyway, and when I want to iron something, I usually get a towel down and do it on the washing machine. So no big loss, and much more space. I also vacuumed everything but the computer room, which I'll tackle tomorrow. Magnus came home in the middle of that project and it got delayed.

Anyway. I worked on the mandolin site, and it's really nearly done. Touch-ups and arranging for a guestbook, stuff like that.. all that's left. Read some, straightened up the kitchen but didn't do dishes. Spilled my lunch all over the kitchen floor.. frozen stir fry. I was pretty lucky, though. I'd lifted it up to read the bottom cause I was pretty sure it was done cooking but needed to check, and I dropped it, so it landed on my nose, bounced off and hit the floor. What was lucky was that it was the bottom that hit me, or I'd have been burned and have burning sauce in my eyes. Was a bitch to clean up. Also did all the laundry.

Unfortunately, now I'm sleepy. So no more tonight.
