Tuesday afternoon

I'm *really* not all that happy with our new hosting company. They're slower, they're less reliable, and most of all, I haven't had email all day long. This is bad. It was cheap, though. Had to prepay for a year, but the price of that was still just a little over the price of three months at the old company. So.. essentially that means that it would be economically bad to switch at least for four months after the initial signup date. Ergh. If it continues the way it's been the last week, though, then we'll consider doing so anyway, even if it is a loss. I'm not happy with being emailless. And the support is dismal.

I got a haircut! Yay! I need to fix it a little myself before I can give a definite yay, but I think it looks nice. She always fluffs it a little too much. Mom got hers done too, and it looked all cute. Also a little too fluffy, but it fell a little bit and turned out nicely after a while. We had lunch at La Finca's and it was, as always, really good. I've been looking forward to it for weeks now, but haven't gotten to go. :) It wasn't as spicy as normal, though, which was disappointing. I also got to mail the wedding present. I refused to send it 4-7 days at $16, so I paid $8 to get it there in 4-6 weeks. If I remember correctly, though, it typically doesn't take that long even with those time frames. But even if it does.. well, who cares? It's a month and a half late already anyway!

I have paperwork and such to do, and I don't feel like it. I also need to call phone companies and change things. ... Called Cingular and fixed that. Since Magnus calls me all the time from work, our bill was.. unhappy this month. :) So I switched it from the useless nights and weekends free plan (they defined nighttime as after 9) to mobile-to-mobile free. So he'll just have to call me on my mobile phone. Which is annoying but cheaper. :)

Tuesday evening

I finished paperwork! I called Cingular (already mentioned that), MCI and Adelphia, for one thing. I'm glad I was nice to the MCI lady, as I almost was bitchy because they billed me when they shouldn't have, but it turned out that they didn't receive notice that my service was switched, so she credited my account and cacelled it for me, warning me that my local phone company hadn't sent them any notice of the switch so if she cancelled it, I might be without long distance service, or charged extremely high rates until the matter was taken care of. I was okay with that. We don't make national long-distance calls anyway, and even if I wanted to, there's the mobile phone (which, I found out today, is now nationwide long distance free and no roaming within KY.. it wasn't when we signed up.) Anyway, MCI was nice about it at least, and then I called Adelphia to see why I wasn't a customer, and it hadn't been put through, so that should be taken care of today or tomorrow morning and someone should contact me when that's done. Soooo.. turns out that the reason MCI billed me was because I was still their customer.. oops. That's why I'm glad I was nice about it.

And, I balanced the checkbook and corresponding spreadsheet! And activated a store credit card that I got last week. And I filed receipts. And paid both phone bills! And got the car registration bills ready to be paid. And sorted tax documents. And filed paycheck stubs. And made a place for the new bank's statements and filed it. And sorted through junk mail. And attempted to use the online banking thing, but it wasn't working. And stuff. So yay me! I was productive!

And still no email. I wonder if those two things are related?

Tuesday night

Still no mail. I'm really annoyed.

I went up to the parents for a while to take Whitley some paper. We played pick-up-sticks and such. I won once, lost twice. Came home just before M got here, and we had a leftover type dinner. And strawberry pie!

Since then, we've been online, doing dishes, talking, gaming, etc. I'm somewhat bored now, and still mad at the hosting people. This is unacceptable email behavior.

And after two other journal entries, I have very little to say. Night!
