Monday night
Apr. 29th, 2002 11:09 pmIt's been a listless sort of day. Usually Monday is my super productive day, but today I just couldn't get too interested in anything.
Anyway. I watched Riding in Cars with Boys. It was pretty good, though different than I expected. Had lunch, showered, etc. This afternoon I returned the movie and stopped at Slone's to get cream of mushroom and chicken broth. Spent most of the time after I got home cooking. It's pie day! I made a chicken pot pie and a strawberry pie. Both were varying degrees of good. The pot pie was pretty good, the strawberry pie was positively delicious. My hubby didn't eat any, though. He said he'd just wait a little while but I think he forgot.
Tomorrow I have the hair appt in the morning. That should be fun. Mom'll be going with me. I talked to her some today and she's feeling better, so that's definitely good. Also, M should be at work at 9 tomorrow, which means when he calls me to let me know he got there okay, that's when I should get up. My own personal alarm clock! :)
I wish I liked tomatoes.
Remember that mailing list I was so pissy with a couple of months or so ago? I think I'm finally going to unsubscribe this week. I'm not the kind ot sulk and leave in anger something like that. So I was staying until I had a reason to stop, or until my email address expired. Two things. Same crap being pulled as before.. Lord and Lady of the Realm get freaked out, overreact, and then get pissed off if someone dares to mention it. Technically, Lord of the Realm does this, and Lady gets psychotic defending him. It's really insane. Truly. Scary. And also, there was a happy ending today.. with one couple managing to get to an end in their long-distance relationship like, three years earlier than expected or something. So that's all happy and stuff, and it'll be nice to leave on a decently upbeat note. Don't believe I'll bother with goodbyes, so as not to start the whole thing up again. So.. that's somewhat of a relief, to have decided to leave, and soon. This weekish. I learned something important at Hysteria. If you spend a good amount of your time upset because of a recreational activity, it's not a recreational activity anymore. And if anyone from the list reads this and takes exception to my analysis of you know who two? well, I could care less, really.
Why do I have "C'mon, people, now smile on your brother, everybody get together and try to love one another right now" stuck in my head?
Hubbly wubbly accidentally bought a mandolin last night. Not something that you do every day. Accidentally buy something. :)
Gonna have a birthday party on Friday, probably. Magnus doesn't have to work, and Dad gets home early at least. Possibly won't have to work at all, if it doesn't rain much. He's looking forward to it, I think. Fried veggies! Yay! Not sure who they're going to invite to this shindig, but I have this feeling it's going to be a long, tiring, social affair. I guess that's okayish. :)
Husband just informed me that he wanted to have an Elvis object in his music room. I'm more concerned about his idea that he's going to have, in this future house he's talking about, a music room than decorating it with Elvis paraphenalia.
