I feel like writing tonight. Just not particularly in my journal. ;) But.. what exactly would I write?

Anyway, today has been.. uneventful, mainly. My husband just turned up the air conditioning and is apparently trying to freeze me to death. I thought I was supposed to be the warm-natured one.

The insurance company has been remarkably unusual in contacting us, but we did hear from them today. Magnus left her a message from work leaving his mobile number and the number at work. She called me at our home number to return his call. Mmmkay. He wasn't here, obviously. *eyes* People. Then she sent an email to mangus at k-image, which redirected itself to me, since I receive anything that's not a valid address at k-image. Nifty, that. So.. seems that she's not entirely capable of following directions, at least. But anyway. She'd received a report, which basically said that the car was a total loss and that we'd get $2,069 for the car. Or we could have it repaired for $2,030 or so. Shyeah. Wow, I haven't said (written) that for a long time. Shyeah. Or at least, I don't think I have. Anyway. Magnus is going to point out that the Cavalier has a new engine and alternator and junk, and also that we have an ER medical bill, prescriptions, and also that he's still actively in pain and unable to move his neck very much. But it's a start, at least.

I sort of have the mandolin site to a good point. Magnus is in charge now of text, and other than that, I just need to set up a guestbook. Which has turned out to be more annoying than I expected, unless I go with one of those free sites.. which is tremendously tempting but somewhat unprofessional. :) Anyway, hoping for Friday that M gets a chance to work on and finish the text. I don't know enough about mandolins to do a very good job at it. I also have some cleanup work, and some graphic optimization. But mostly done.

The parents bought a travel trailer. Dad offered the guy $1500 and he took it. Surprisingly enough, it's actually pretty nice on the inside. Dad likes to buy.. junk, mainly. Missing things like roofs. And/or things that have been through Hurricane Hugo or similar. *giggle* You'd really have to know him, and see the stuff he brings home. It's a family joke by now. Anyhow, this one is really neat, except for the floor. It has a couple of weak spots, which he won't have much trouble fixing. (Wish they'd fix our weak spot in the hallway. It's getting worse and worse.) It has air conditioning, even, and all the stuff seems to work (lights, etc.) Definitely a good price. Dad's idea is to immediately (after replacing the floor, probably) resell it for profit. Mom wants to use it for a few weekends first. It's surprisingly roomy and nice on the inside, so it could be fun.

After Magnus got home, we went off to do some grocery shopping. Stopped first at Randy's and looked at the car. We agreed that it looks pretty nice. It has a couple of dentish places in the passenger side, and a scratch by the headlight on the driver side. Seats are still dirty and scuffyish, but. Overall, it's a neat car. I'm seeing it as probable that it's our next car. But we'll have to see if it's still there on Friday, and if we like driving it, etc. It was kind of late by then, so we decided that cooking after we got back from the grocery was a little unlikely, so we went to Dairy Queen, and once again I decided that they should stick to ice cream. Uninspired is a good word for the rest of their food. Then grocery shopping and home.

We saw some pretty flowers at Kroger, so we got them and took them to Mom. I told her that since her Mother's Day present would be late, I'd bring her this early. The law of averages and all. Unfortunately, I stole her last vase on Saturday, so she didn't have anything to put them in.. oops!
