Saturday night
May. 11th, 2002 10:46 pmToday has been so long and busy. My fingers are not cooperating much with me tonight, so forgive any typos.
I bought the car!
Most of the day was spent working on that. First buying it and doing all the paperwork and then after lunch I started with cleaning it. As you may remember, or maybe I've never mentioned at all, the biggest problem with this car was the seats being dirty and stained. After more or less wasting a couple of hours of working time scrubbing seats with another cleaner (some stuff was coming off, but not easily and not much) I decided to try that OxiClean stuff. So. I brought it out and tried it, and it worked so well! I had been pretty skeptical about the alleged powers of OxiClean, even though people have been talking about it being so wonderful. But for this, it really did work magic. There are some splattered burn marks in the back seat, so I can't do all that much with those. But the seats are much lighter and cleaner than they were, and there were two major stained areas in the back that are almost completely clean now. The seatbelt had disgusting liquid stains.. I think it was coffee and it was a real bitch to get out. Anyway, I was hot and tired and it was getting late and everyone was waiting for me to get done, so I stopped. Maybe another day I'll go out and work on the remaining stains again.
Also, I took Brad with me to WalMart and bought the floormats. I went all out and bought the expensive ones, and they look *really* nice. We're so happy with the car! It has lots of cute little things! Like the swing button, which makes the vents move back and forth so the air comes out evenly.. *giggle* And it has a sunroof! And it rides so smoothly! And the back seats open to the trunk! The Beretta does that and I always liked it. Not that it's all that useful most of the time, but sometimes it's cool. And it actually looks nice! I should have taken a picture of it earlier, but we probably will tomorrow after we wash it. So that should be good. But it's kind of weird to own a grown-up (four door, etc) car. ;)
And while I was having a busy day, Magnus was also having a really good day at work. He sold TWO cars today. He'd only sold one previously, so this is big news! Not many people have been going in cause of the weather and stuff. Yay baby! Happy! And erm, the internal politics of the company have shifted in a perhaps favorable way. (What this might mean, but I don't want to actually come right out and say, is that some person might no longer be working there.)
M is watching that show Jackass, on MTV. Can you BE any more stupid than these people? I will admit that it can be pretty funny, though. The current moron is snorting worms up his nose and spitting them out his mouth.. it made me quite ill.
Anyway. Magnus got home, we rested for a few minutes and decided that we had to go celebrate. So we went to eat. Drove around for a while and ended up at La Finca's. It was soo good. It typically is. I've been craving Mexican lately.
The parents put linoleum down in the travel trailer today. I think they finished, at least. Anyway, they already have it almost ready to use, minus the cleaning and stocking. Not bad, considering they had to replace the floor. It looks so cute!
We leave for Sweden a week from tomorrow. Haven't started packing yet. This is disturbing. I guess that's what I'll be doing this week. Getting things ready. Ergh. And I'm supposed to meet Chickles sometime this week. Hey, chick, did we settle for Thursday?
Think it's livingroom time. Waves.
