Friday morning
May. 31st, 2002 09:16 amI'm up way too early again. I seem to have a much harder time travelling west than I do going east.. I was perfectly fine when we arrived in Sweden.. but now my schedule is completely screwy. I slept until 7:30 yesterday and got up at 7 today. This is particularly annoying because I need to come up with something to do for 14 hours before my baby gets home! Yesterday at least he didn't leave until 9ish. Last night I was getting pretty sleepy, and just after M had dinner (9:30 or so) I laid down on the couch to watch TV. He was so cute. I had been doing laundry and there were unfolded clothes all over the bed that I had forgotten about. So when he saw that I was no longer watching TV, he came over and covered me up with the blanket and took my glasses off and kissed me on the forehead. Then he went and put up most of the laundry and got the bed ready, and then he came back and washed my face for me and put me to bed. I think he sang to me, too, but I have no memory of this. :)
Married life is excellent.
Yesterday I was super busy pretty much all day long. I unpacked and got started on straightening back up.. the house looked like a tornado had come through with all the stuff from the suitcases and laundry and such.. I walked through the night we got back and looked around in horror and finally commented that it was definitely a good thing I bothered to get the house cleaned before we left. Ergh! But it's just stuff and not dirt, for the most part (a few cobwebs in our absence that need pulled down.) Mom called at 11 and asked what the plan was, and I told her that we were meeting at La Finca's.. hehe. We had a long lunch and we talked about the things that had happened while we were gone, for us and for them. Sucky stuff here, for the most part. Her cousin's daughter (Sigrid, who was approximately my age) was killed in a car wreck just before we left, and another cousin's husband (Danny) died of a heart attack a few days ago, so they've been going to funerals and stuff. ;(
After lunch, I had to go to the grocery store. That was somewhat boring, but we were majorly out of food. We'd been putting off going for quite a while because of the upcoming trip, so we had bottled water, five cans of pepsi and three cans of Diet Mountain Dew. Well, maybe a few more things, but not much! It was also nice to be driving my car again! I had a moment of panic on the way there because it suddenly occured to me that the temporary tags were still on, and I thought they were only valid for 14 days, but turned out to be 30 days. But I have the license plate now anyway.. Dad brought it by. He'd picked it up from Randy's at some point, I guess. It just needs to be put on. Hmm.. wonder how hard it is to put one on? Dad said that he'd help me, or Magnus would do it, which implied that one must have a solid supply of testosterone. I somehow doubt that this is the case.. perhaps I'll try to do that later.
After I got home, there were more things to do. I did laundry and put away groceries and random things. I lost most of my energy at around 5 or something, though, and so the productivity slowed. :) I made some chili, which I tried really hard to not make too spicy. Apparently I somewhat failed, but it was definitely not as spicy as last time. I also put mushrooms in it, which turned out to not taste bad or anything but feel so weird that I won't do it again. Mamaw and Papaw stopped by for a minute, and Dad brought the mail by at around 8.. by this point I was so tired that looking through the mail made me depressed, so I stopped. *giggle* It doesn't look quite so overwhelming this morning, at least.
Heard from Paul yesterday, as well, and he's doing okay. That was good.. I'd been a little worried. Did I mention that he was having surgery? Can't remember.
I've been catching up on Amerikanska a little, and guess what's been going on in my absence? .. ... .. Yep! Bickering! Just like always! Why am I not surprised? :)
M didn't sell any cars in his absence.. which was somewhat surprising. He thought a couple of people would be in. Oh well.
My goals for the day: completely put away all junk, pay bills, call applicable STUPID phone companies that try to charge me $17 for a service I cancelled before it took effect (ie, MCI) and who call me at least once a week to ask the same stupid questions, go to WalMart. I think there was more, but I can't think of anything at the moment. Still a little tired, I guess.
