Tuesday night
Sep. 11th, 2002 12:45 amI have this strange feeling in my hand.. something I haven't felt much in a long while. Writing cramps. *giggle* I've spent the evening working on creating fonts! Fun! I haven't played with that before, but didn't take too long to get the hang of it. I ended up with two.. my cursive writing (which I foolishly attempted to do first.. getting the curls to even come close to meeting was quite a pest) and my print writing. I love my new mouse pen thing. :) Now if I could only grow to love the mouse.. :)
Nothing particularly special happened today. I helped my parents out for a while and made some cornbread this evening. It turned out kinda weird, but good. Took almost twice as long to cook as it was supposed to, though, so we were too full to really eat any of it. *giggle* Extremely glad I halved the recipe after all. ;) M spent the day working in Maysville, but I'm insisting that he stay in town tomorrow. I mean.. I don't really think that anything untoward will happen anywhere close to here.. but you never know, right? Anyway,
That reminds me. My mom called me one night last week to tell me not to buy Coke products. Ike and Alice had just come back from Indiana (where they used to live til last year) for a visit, and their grandson's girlfriend's mom had the following story to tell.. She was in the grocery store, with two Arab/middle-eastern men in front of her. They were three dollars short of being able to pay the bill, and while they were digging in their pockets, she gave them the three dollars so she could get checked out herself and move things along. They thanked her, and when she walked outside, they were standing there waiting. "You were nice to us," they said, "and now we want to be nice to you. Don't buy Coke products." .. And then they walked off. So she was thinking that we should err on the side of caution.. which actually wouldn't be a problem for us, since we hate Coke anyway. BUT!! (Please don't stop reading here, I don't want to contribute to the rumor mill if I can help it.)
So I'm sitting there, thinking about this story and completely unable to believe that it happened. But for a rumor, it had an unusually close connection.. I don't know the grandson's girlfriend's mom, but I DO know the grandson, and I believe that his girlfriend HAS a mom. *grin* So I decide to check if it's on Snopes.. which is risky, because my mommy gets annoyed with me if I'm doing computer things while on the phone. Anyway, found it immediately, with THE EXACT SAME story. (Read it here.) It was kind of fun, because I could give an immediate "this isn't true!" response, and the story had already been spreading through the family, so Mom called them all back and let them know that it wasn't true cause Kisha said so.. *GRIN*
Anyway, my eyes are so sleepy that I can barely keep them open. Nightie night!
