Saturday night
Sep. 8th, 2002 12:32 amToday was such a good day! We went on a shopping spree of sorts. I have a new Wacom Graphire2 tablet! I'm tremendously excited about it. *giggle* Steel blue. I couldn't decide between it and the ruby colored one, but M didn't like the red one, so blue it is. It's so very neat, but at the same time somewhat sucky--I miss my old mouse already! It comes with a cordless optical mouse, so you can use either the pen or the mouse. But.. I'm not used to using a mousepad anymore, so it's somewhat irritating to get used to, plus I have to keep it on top of the desk instead of on the keyboard tray.. troublesome. I'm sure I'll get used to it, though. Eventually.
Also, we spent an inordinate amount of time at our very most favorite bookstore. Actually, we agreed that it is indeed the best bookstore that either of us have ever been to.. including the ones in London and Amsterdam and Stockholm and such that M has been to. Joseph-Beth Booksellers (sucky website, though). In any event, we found three new books, and engaged in a detailed conversation of surstromming with the clerk, who was of Swedish/Norwegian descent. Oh! And we got a probe thermometer, which I'm relatively sure no one else in the world would get as excited over as we did. And dinner at O'Charley's.
I spent yesterday with the parents, more less. I went to lunch and to a sale at the drug store. They had Hallmark Christmas ornaments (and a few other things) 75% off. Now, I'm not a true freak or anything, but I do rather like them and tend to not like buying them at full price. So. I spent $12.90 and came home with four or five ornaments and seven little bitty Precious Moments animal figures.. though I must confess that Mom bought three of them for me. :) Still! Very good! Exciting!
Really doesn't take much to make me happy. :) It's a nice way to live, typically.
