Saturday evening
Oct. 5th, 2002 06:56 pmMy hubby distracted me last night from updating. He keeps making me fall asleep, the evil meanie!
The big news for the weekend is that we bought a car. Yay! It's a '94 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme or something. I can't believe what a grown-up car we have. I thought it was bad when we bought the Mazda, but this is ridiculous! Anyway, it's M's car, and he really loves it, so all is well. He took pictures last night but we haven't transferred them yet. It's almost as red as the Cavalier was.. which was the reddest car in the world. Anyway, as I mentioned, my dad's friend was going to look for a car for us, and this is what he found. Good price and seems to be a nice car except for the tires.
Which leads me into today. I told him that he couldn't drive it until the tires were fixed, so we went to Mt. Sterling to WalMart to have tires put on. None of the places in town were open, and we don't have a tire center at our WalMart.. anyway. I was supposed to meet Heidi at her house at 5 so we could go to the Home and Garden party, but turned out that the tire change took a couple of hours so we were going to be late, and she wasn't home anyway, so.. it all worked out. Just as well, as I'm not tremendously excited by such parties and I think I have a pinched nerve in my back. At least, it feels like I've always imagined a pinched nerve to feel. At least, I have a backache.
I can't believe I haven't updated since Tuesday. I was sure that I wrote at least one more. Anyway. Have been tatting a bit. Really making some progress, but also getting frustrated at how much farther there is to go. Also pissy with how complicated people make the patterns. Anyway, I'm working on one right now that's (if it turns out) going to be very nice, I think. We rented The Royal Tennenbaums last night, and we were rather surprised at how good it was. One of the strangest things we've seen for a while, though.
Anyway, I should clean the house and fix dinner. Instead, I'm going to mail my chick and have sandwiches or something. ;) Saturday nights aren't meant for work, right? :)
