Wednesday night
Dec. 26th, 2002 01:58 amChristmas Day never feels like much of a holiday other than the food. It's a little weird. :) Anyway, spent the day at the parents, mostly, doing the big dinner thing. I neither burned myself nor any of the food items, so it all went better than yesterday. We came home for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but went back up for leftovers and played a few games of Rook (Mom and I won two of three). The tournament is this weekend sometime, so we were practicing with tournament rules. It sucks that way, I can't imagine why they want to play like that.
I packed up a small thing to send to
denyeverything tonight, and Magnus will put it in the mail tomorrow. Hope she likes it. :) Oh, that reminds me. Earlier this week, Magnus posted a question to his mandolin forum (He's very into mandolins, which I might have mentioned or might have forgotten.) about whether or not you could use a particular method and type of wood to build mandos. He's made one electric and now is planning for his first acoustic mandolin. Anyway, the resident expert, who happens to own a tonewood business, posts and says that he can save him a lot of time and effort by telling him that no, it's not worth the effort though it did work in theory..... but since it was Christmas and he approved of the question (it was the kind of question that made him want to get into the business twenty years ago) he would send him a prime mandolin wood top as a special holiday gift!! Isn't that the nicest thing?!
The hubby has to work tomorrow, which is very icky. But it's snowy, so he might not have to leave all that much and can work from home. I like it when he works from home. In any case, I suppose that I'll spend tomorrow putting the house back together.. Christmas is a very messy holiday, have ya noticed? Not that I'm complaining about finding places to put all the new stuff! Lisa is supposed to be in and meet me for lunch on Friday, but she didn't call today so I don't know if that'll happen or not. Hope we have Mexican. Or at least pie.
