Monday night
Jan. 6th, 2003 11:10 pmMagnus had to go to Ashland to take a phone to a customer, so I got to ride with him and keep my baby company today. This would have been more fun than it turned out to be if I hadn't been sicker than planned. I swear, this thing that I have won't go away. It started one night with a sore throat, then the next day I was all achy and sore throat, and the next day I was almost completely well, and then it's been going downhill since then. I think I've had a fairly low fever most of the time (except for the day I was well). Anyway, today it's been sore/scratchy throat, an icky cough, and occasional sniffles, not to mention gallons of whininess. My hubby is amazing, though, so that goes a long way to making me all better. He made me dinner (a pasta bag thing) and brought me Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. :) I wouldn't have wanted him to get the ice cream, though, if I'd realized that it was snowing. I don't know why I was surprised, because it's been snowing all day. My mind hasn't been working all that intensely well either, with this cold type thing.
We got our Christmas present from Magnus's sister today. Also realized that the reason it was kind of late was probably that she had the address wrong.. hehe. :) Was kind of glad to see that the post office is still putting the yellow forwarding stickers on stuff, though. Anyway, she sent a CD by Daniel Lemma and some candy. The CD we were both pretty skeptical about, but it was better than expected. It might even grown on us. The candy I didn't try because of throat issues.
Yesterday was Mom's birthday, and we went up for a little party in the afternoon. We bought her one of those paraffin hand spa things, and I decorated a card with tatted flowers, and she seemed pleased. Dad has a tendency to wrap up whatever he buys the day he goes to WalMart to buy her birthday presents, so she also got some PeptoBismo.. rofl. She was looking around to make sure she'd put the paper towels away and she wouldn't be unwrapping that, too. :) We played a couple of games of Rook, and we both won one, but it got a little late to play another.
Oh, and I guess the most noteworthy thing.. I officially applied to go back to school today.. eep.
