Wednesday night
Jan. 9th, 2003 01:36 amRemind me in future to remain apathetic and stay out of people's problems.. :) As the mud turns, and all that. I think you would have to be a mudder to appreciate the scandals and politics that go on. Not worth going into, really, now that I think about it.
I've felt mostly better today. My voice is only partially working and I have a cough, but my mind is less fuzzy. We even went grocery shopping and I cooked an actual dinner and not just ramen noodles or the equivalent. It was pretty good, too... it was an adaptation of the beef thing I made in Sweden all the time. I didn't know how to cook when I was there, ya know, and so I had to learn a little bit. I came up with this specific dish that we fell in love with on my first attempt, but it required a cheesy sauce that we can't find here and couldn't really bring over (as it's a refridgerated dairy product.) Colby, montery jack, parmesan, sour cream, milk, garlic and pepper made a passable imitation. Texture was wrong, though. Still, it was really quite good, all things considered.
I got my tatting shuttle in the mail today! Magnus ordered it for me for Christmas but not in time for Christmas, so it just got here today. I love it! It's so pretty! It's made of koa and has my initials (klg) carved in the inside, in all lowercase just like I wanted it. I'm not sure why, but I'm very fond of my initials, especially when lowercase. I was very happy that it didn't change when I got married. Here it is:

I guess most people won't appreciate the beauty, but it's really a great shuttle, take my word for it.
And lastly, a hearty welcome to
gissa. :)
