Friday night - Valentine's Day :)

I was just in a major shopping frenzy. I ordered quite a few things from three different online stores., so the next week or two should be fun indeed. Until the credit card bill gets here. :) I usually go about my shopping by looking around endlessly, getting overwhelmed by choices and different stores and shipping rates, and then saying "I'll do this tomorrow." but I actually got it all done this time. I doubt any of you will be interested in a single thing that got ordered, though. Twenty balls of Altin Basak thread (you have no idea how excited I am about this), a few shuttles, a couple of hanky blanks, a newsletter subscription, a book and an instrumental mandolin CD (Wayne Benson from Third Tyme Out, if you're curious, and for Magnus, of course). I meant to order the CD weeks ago and give it to him today but I completely forgot. Anyway. I have officially declared my Valentine's Day present and my Christmas money to be over with. I was apparently hard to buy for this year, because that's pretty much all I got. If I did the math, I think I would actually have some left, (especially with the hankies.. those will probably end up as gifts anyway, and not for me!) but I'm getting tired of worrying over it, and I really don't need anything at the moment anyway. I'm horrible at spending gift money. I worry over it and feel guilty about spending money that could go towards something more practical. I never did buy anything with the college graduation funds, for example, and that was a considerable amount. Of course, we were both unemployed then, and I thought paying bills was more important than buying a digital video camera, which is what that money was periously close to being used for.

We've sort of been spacy about Valentine's Day this year. Hmm.. actually, we always are. I think we're so darned shmooey all the time that it makes it hard to be especially sweet on one particular day. :) Anyway, this year is particularly bad. We haven't done much of anything all day long. Well, I actually have been kinda nice to my baby. I went to KFC to pick up hot wings for M for lunch as a surprise, and then fixed a nice dinner. (Steak. It was really quite good, although it did end up a little too marinated, as I was afraid of.) I feel like we should be doing something more special than computery things as usual.

Oooh, new plan, I just checked the tv listings for the evening, and we're going to watch one of those shows about international commercials at 10:30, followed by the 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet. I'll probably be asleep by the time it's over, but we'll give it a shot. :)
