Sunday night. Tired.

The big news is that my grandfather has finally gone home. They went up yesterday to clean, and the same thing today. Yesterday I didn't have to go because Magnus had the day off and we were doing things. Well, he has today off, too, but Sunday is our normal visiting day up there anyway. They did the livingroom yesterday and we worked on the kitchen today. This wasn't just.. cleaning. This was seven people working nonstop all day long. THAT sort of cleaning. He hasn't been there more than a day or two since his string of hospital visits and operations and such, and that started in November. They've had to keep the house semi-warm all this time, to keep things from freezing and all, and he has coal stoves. With normal everyday cleaning, that's not a huge problem, but it all settled, plus all the other dirt and grime that just builds up and needs a thorough cleaning every year or so. So now I'm all tired, but happy that we got it mostly done. I need to do a spring cleaning here, really, but it's hard to motivate myself to get started on it. We're going to replace the carpet in here soon (we picked it out and almost ordered it the week before Papaw's surgery, and then it all got put on a back burner) and if we pull it out, everything'll get dusty and dirty again. Excuses, excuses, I know. :)

My oldest cousin's little girl, Krista, is 10 and has Down's syndrome. She's always been my little girl and she'll always run and hug me as soon as she sees me. Anyway, we call each other Sweetie. It was just before I spent the summer in Sweden in 2000.. she was in a name-calling phase. It was my birthday and my mom and me and her were out to lunch, and she called me some sort of name, and I told her it wasn't nice to call people names, and that if she really had to call me something besides my name, it should be something nice, like "honey" or "sweetie" or something. She thought that was pretty funny, so called me Sweetie all day. I was gone for three months after that, and when I came back, I was still Sweetie and I have been ever since. (Sweetie and Swedey.. hehehe.) Anyway. Today, Devon was calling me a pooper (he's really fascinated by such things now) and I told him approximately the same thing.. that Krista calls me Sweetie and that if he just absolutely needed to call me something besides my name, he could call me that. Krista, who was sitting on my other side and heard this exchange, said vehemently, "NO! Kisha!!" *beam* I thought it was so sweet that she didn't want anyone else using her name for me.

I'm working on a pair of bobby socks with a simple tatted edging for Whitley for her birthday. I'm not sure how they'll turn out but I might make another, fancier pair if all goes well. She told Mom a couple of months ago that all she wanted for her birthday was to learn how to tat, and something tatted. I might have mentioned this before. Anyway, she's also hopeless to buy anything for, so I'm trying to fulfill her request. I've got a pair of earrings done that just need the findings attached, and I have a bracelet partially completed. Both of those are covered in pastel beads. I should make a necklace, I guess. Not sure what else I'll come up with, but her birthday is in two weeks, so I'd better get on with it. :)

You know what's kind of ironic? I have two email accounts that I actively use. One is a free popmail service that I've had for a long time, and I use it for things that *might* end up sending spam, anything I sign up for online, for instance. The other is my real address. The spam account gets spam extremely seldom. My real one gets quite a bunch.. almost all for virus software. It's so weird. On the other hand.. better that than all the Japanese spam I used to get.

Oh, and I'm supposed to have lunch with my cousin Rae on Tuesday. She's notorious for making plans with me and forgetting about it, though, so we'll see if it actually happens. *laugh*
