It's been a very good day. I told M that it was the best birthday ever. He was of the opinion that I must have generally bad birthdays--which is actually very true. I used to be somewhat famous for my spectacularly bad birthdays. Like, one year, we went to Red Lobster, and halfway through the salads, the power went out and did not come back on so we had to leave.. and when we got home, we found that the storm had also knocked a couple of trees down across the street, leaving us without power until morning. The next year, I had a lovely birthday party in the midst when my parents got this phone call from the police.. my brother had been caught vandalizing a bus with two of his friends. (This is the only time he was ever of a criminal persuasion, btw, just being stupid and 14.) They left a houseful of 11-year old girls to go get him. And then there was one year when the only present I got on my actual birthday was a quarter from my brother's friend, who just happened to hear me complain about it. (It was all just late, but still.. what fun is a birthday with no presents?!)

Anyway. I hate to see it all end. My sweetie hubby has been "happy birthday"ing me every ten minutes and being even nicer to me than usual. We haven't done anything all that spectacularly wonderful, I guess, but it's been such a nice weekend.. even the cleaning yesterday. The work sucked but we accomplished a lot and now it looks so nice. And today I got a mirror for the bedroom door! We have a full-length mirror in the computer room, but it's a hassle to come in here to use it. We're such dorks that we took the master bedroom and turned it into a computer room.. we sleep in a room barely big enough for a queen-sized bed. :) I've wanted to buy a mirror since we switched rooms and put the bed in the other room, bu t I hate paying $10 for it when I know that we bought one before for like $6. It's the principle of the matter, you know.

I told M on Friday that whatever we did, I didn't want to go out to eat with Brad (cousin). He loves to get people sung to in restaraunts. My parents took us out to dinner tonight (Cutter's) and they ended up singing anyway. They didn't really ask them to, at least, but still. It was really cute because after they got done, the little girl in the booth behind us turned around and started singing to me. I didn't hear her, and she got shy and stopped when it was pointed out. *giggle* So cute.

I have to work tomorrow. I really don't care much about working on Mondays, but at least I get it all over with early in the week. I'd rather have my one day in the middle of the week so it gets all broken up, but.. well, no one asked me, and I guess I can't complain about my one day of work per week. :)
