New Desks For Everyone!
May. 10th, 2003 10:37 pmIrritatingly enough, I now have a real problem with shoulder pain. I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen or not after yesterday's roller table experience, but it certainly does hurt now. I didn't really have pain constantly before, so this is a little annoying. Riding to Lexington in a truck with no headrests didn't help, either. Especially since the reason for taking the truck turned out to be worthless.
We slept late and then had a horrible time deciding what to do with the day, and an even worse time getting out of town--graduation day means lots of traffic, plus a couple of errands means we didn't get to Lexington--or have lunch--until after 3. We went desk-shopping. As expected, I was rather picky. We found a few that were almost right. We finally found what we were looking for at Staples, which was nice since we almost didn't go there. They didn't have it in stock, though, so they ordered it and it'll arrive sometime this week--no shipping charges. So we could have taken the car and been more comfortable. We also got a free luggage set for ordering it. That was pretty neat. We had a choice of that or a case of paper. We didn't really need either one of them, but decided to go with the luggage set because it came with an umbrella, and we do need one of those. *laugh* Besides, as M pointed out.. we can get more out of a set of luggage at a yard sale than a box of paper. :)
( My New Desk )
I guess I might as well tell the rest of the story. We both liked the desk so well that we bought two. *giggle* M's desk dominates the entire room anyway, so not only will it be nice to have desks that go together, we'll have more space in here. That wasn't the plan when we went shopping, so we felt a little guilty about it, since M's desk is perfectly fine as far as his ergonomic situation goes. Oh, well. We very rarely buy stuff like this, and we do spend a disgusting amount of time using said pieces of furniture. I'm just a little worried that I won't like it as well as I like this one. I guess I'll get over it, in any case. :)
Other than the desk shopping excursion, the day has contained very little of interest. Of course, that assumes that someone is interested in our desks, but still. We've watched a bit of TV, read a bit, checked out the online things. We did watch a new Good Eats this morning, though. :) That was tremendously exciting!
My darling husband just brought in the scales from the bathroom, cursed innovatively (cursivated) and dramatically threw them away--I guess he was somehow offended by them. Silly boy!
