I have the word "hydroponic" (as in tomatoes) stuck in my head. We got our first flat of 'em today.. pretty suckers. That still doesn't mean I want to walk around thinking "hydroponic hydroponic hydroponic". It's just such a funny word.

I had another chiropractor visit today. i seem not to be a model patient. I'm really not in serious pain, but what there is isn't going away as fast as he'd like, apparently. I really hate that roller table, too.. I think it's causing a lot of my back problems. I didn't even HAVE a back problem until I started going to the doctor for my shoulder, which turned out to be about my neck, so suddenly there are three "broken" bits to work on. The shoulder is a little better, btw.. it no longer pops out of place, I don't think, but it's very weak still.

The furniture man came in today and bought some bananas. When they bought the store, there was a bunch of handmade furniture scattered around the place.. the ex-owner's brother had made it and they were selling it for a 10% commission. The funny thing is that I've sold almost every bit it, but no one else ever sells any. The last piece I sold was Sunday, and I don't think anything was sold for three weeks before that. They've been teasing me about it, saying that they were going to send me out to work for Arnold Hamilton. This is a name that means absolutely nothing to any of you, but he sells furniture in Morehead (at the back of the flea market building) and Olive Hill. He also sells cars. But I haven't sold any cars, so I really shouldn't have bothered to mention it. It's not even close to important, because the story I was telling involved the furniture man. He bought bananas and asked if anything else had been sold. My mother told him that yes, I'd sold yet another piece and then mentioned that I had sold all of it so far and made the joke about Arnold. And the point of this long boring paragraph is this: he didn't thank me. I've sold several hundred dollars worth of his shoddily-constructed furniture when no one else has sold anything, and he doesn't even smile at me and say "hey, thanks!"? Where's the love here? Perhaps next time I'll point out how the legs aren't perfectly even on the floor and rocks diagonally back and forth if it's not against a wall instead of cheerily taking their money. Well, I might do that if there was 0% commission and if I didn't hate the way the silly furniture clutters up the store.

We ate out tonight and then Magnus did some mowing while I watched a taped episode of Good Eats. (strawberries) I feel like I'm falling asleep in my chair now, though, and I have to work again tomorrow, so I'd best get my hubby to put me to bed now. Night night!
