I'm ridiculously happy about it being Saturday. We've had a very nice day, for the most part, and the best part is that it's not going to end in the morning! Another day of a produce-free lifestyle! *hsigh* Sorry, I try to avoid using mud actions other than grins and laughs, but in this case, it just fit perfectly what I was trying to say. Hsigh = happy sigh. I should make a list of the ones I wish I could use with people still knowing what I was talking about and stick them in my user info. Except it would probably be better for me to refrain from using them at all. I've been trying to cut down on smilies. It's very difficult, though. At least my smilies are right. :) What's with giving them noses? It's just wrong. Anyway. When M and I were still on different continents, if I typoed a smilie as :o, he would kiss me. I thought that was very cute, so I wrote it wrong on purpose sometimes. Aww, good times. See, I can say that they were good times now, as I don't remember quite how badly it sucked. ;)
I had a bit of disappointment this afternoon. We headed to town and I noticed that there was a package on my parents' porch, so we drove down to get it because I was sure it was for me. Indeed, it was a package from Nordic Needle. I mentioned last night that I had ordered fifteen shuttles? Well. They arrived... and they were all the wrong style! It's the new Susan Bates shuttle as opposed to the old one.. and yes, there was a picture of the old style when I placed my order. I can't even really consider keeping them because they're bobbin shuttles instead of post shuttles. I don't like bobbin shuttles, even though they sound practical in theory. I wouldn't mind keeping one of them, actually, and trying it out (maybe I just didn't like the one I'd tried before, who knows?) but I certainly don't want to waste thirty bucks on shuttles I won't use, of course. Their customer service department isn't open on weekends, though, so I'll have to call them about it again on Monday. Why they insist on calling, I'll never know. I would so prefer to send them a stinking email. At least it's an 800 number.
We watched Dirty Dancing last night and Lord of the Rings this morning. I'm so impressed with the quality of the LotR movies. They're so pretty and so well-done (though I, like everyone else, mourn the absence of Tom Bombadil). I feel like I should have my geek card revoked for admitting this, but I really didn't enjoy the books. And they say Robert Jordan is wordy.. well, at least he's wordy while something is happening. I finished those books through sheer force of will and determination.
I wish I could rationalize buying a new scanner. Mine is tremendously ugly. And slow. ;) It tends to scan pretty decently, though, which makes it harder to justify purchasing a new one. And I'd also like a printer that will print borderless pages. At 12 x 12. I know, I don't ask for much. I might be able to talk myself into the scanner, or get it as a gift at some point, but I'm pretty sure that I won't spend that much on a printer anytime soon. Could have the darn things printed professionally for less, probably. Well, at 11 x 11, at least, and I could deal with one inch margins. Babble, babble.
Also, I am officially not allowed to enter the virtual wet tshirt contest mentioned at Fark. Shucky darn. :) Great site, btw, if you don't read it already. Anyway, I believe I'm off to do something else now. Perhaps something constructive, but more likely something like organize fonts or look at all the pretty layouts at Scrapbook Bytes or drag M off to watch a movie. Nicey-nice!
