I refuse to add a subject. So there.
Sep. 2nd, 2003 08:47 pmI pinched my finger in a major way a little while ago. I have this cute little see-through box I carry my tatting around in, and I caught my left ring finger in the back when I closed it. It's still a little tender, but I wouldn't let a little thing like pain stop me from writing this lovely journal entry. In other words, I'm bored silly. I finished off a box of plums this morning, though, and the top of it was covered with a layer of bubble wrap. Yay me! I've popped a few on and off all day, and I just finished the sheet off a few minutes ago. As they say..therapy is expensive but bubble wrap is cheap. I had a funny thought about bubble wrap, actually, but now I need somewhere to work it into a conversation for it to be funny. I'll probably forget about it long before then, of course.
My mommy brought me a present today, which made me happy. She went shopping yesterday with Aunt Rita, and she bought me four shirts. :) She said she hadn't bought me anything in a long time so wanted to find something for me. I was rather impressed with her, actually, because all four shirts fit. Actually, two of them were on the large side, though not so much I can't wear them. I wonder if she got lucky or if I would have better luck with clothes shopping now. I tend to have a bit of a proportional issue with shirts. My top half causes me endless amounts of trouble. If I wasn't in mixed company, I would make a lot of off-color remarks about the sort of trouble it causes, but since I am, I'll refrain. :)
I just took a break from this and wrote M a letter. I feel like such a wimp because now my arm feels like it's going to fall off. I really don't do much writing by hand anymore. Maybe I should take up letter-writing to keep in practice. The only problem with that is that I suck at remembering to do it. I've been planning on writing Susan a letter for ages. I've never met anyone as conscientious as she is about cards and letters. She was my best friend in Augusta (Georgia), from grades 4-6 or so. Well, most of the time. She sent me her email address a while back and I really tried to make up for lost time with regard to my sucky skills at sending letters and cards. As it turns out, she's not much better at email than I am at letters. Oh, well. I really should send her a card. I have her address in a text file on my desktop to remind me to do it. It might be helpful if I hadn't named it something stupid like ssdf.txt. Not even close to her initials other than the S, which was completely coincidental.
I spent a few minutes fiddling with pictures so I could link to the tatting box and now I have a little gallery folder for uploading random picture for remote linkage purposes. I'm still struggling a little with sorting through how I want things done since changing our system. I'm strongly considering moving our site again from a subdomain to a real domain for various reasons, only a few of them related to my constant desire to buy domain names. See, I'm paying two different hosting companies right now, and I just don't see the point any longer. K-Image and our page are both hosted by Draknet, and they're quite cool and all, but the service is slipping a little bit with regards to mail. Plus, I'm paying them $10 a month and paying Hummingbird Hosting $5 a month--and they'll give me two domains for the price of one. So.. I'm currently spending $10 unneccessary dollars. I do think that if I switch hosts, I'll upgrade to their $10 plan (and get five domains, thus allowing me to have all three sites on their own domain AND have two extra to play around with later on).. but it'll still save us $5 per month. And hey, $5 is $5, right?
Ugh. I can't believe I wrote all that and still didn't get to the point of the entire paragraph. Since there have been a few requests for pictures of M's beard, I've uploaded a before and after. Enjoy!
.
Okay, I'll close this now (finally! you all say) with a joke from my joke-a-day mailing list. (I would probably unsubscribe from the thing but I've been getting a joke a day from them since 1997.. I hate to end the relationship.)
