It's not fair. I've been warding this thing off all week. I've even refrained from kissing M in contagious areas. (Wow, that sounded dirty.) Do you know how much self-restraint that takes?! I've been getting plenty of sleep, I've eaten fairly healthy meals all week long. I haven't taken my vitamins, though. Maybe that's what caused it. Anyway, I woke up with a sore throat and itchy nose this morning. M, of course, is feeling better and better, and I expect him to feel almost well today. So now he's going to be all bouncy and happy on the weekend and I'm going to be sick and whiny. If I had to catch it, why couldn't I have been sick at the same time as him? Unfair.
But on the bright side, my daddy is making me a tater box for Christmas, in the style of the one I wanted at the store. (I didn't want that one because the legs weren't even and the wood was ugly and it was expensive.) I know about it but I'm not allowed to see it until Christmas. He stained it yesterday, though, I think. :) Yay! I actually don't know if tater boxes are common elsewhere. It's a wooden rectangular boxy thing, somewhere between two and three foot tall and maybe a foot wide and deep (but I suck at guessing measurements), with a slanting hinged lid and a drawer at the bottom. You put your taters in the top and your onions in the drawer. I wanted a less deep hole for the potatoes and at least a couple of drawers. The ones that my family have have "Taters" and "Onions" carved in the wood, but I requested that mine not have that--I'm just not a country decor kind of gal. I'm sure there will be pictures upcoming after Christmas. :)
I've got to get started on a Christmas list. And I need to do something about cards, and I HAVE to mail that stupid letter I wrote five days ago. It's still on my desk. I suck. And I have to do some zine junk, so off I go to try to get some crap done before I get sicker.
