My boy-o is a little under the weather, and so we've had two quiet days at home. For some reason, I can make a point to write here if I'm very busy--I carve out a little bit of time just before bedtime. When I'm listlessly unbusy, though, it's impossible to keep me tied to the chair long enough to write something. It's pretty bad lately--I've even started looking for computer games to play. I'm very picky about what I like in a game, though, so I haven't found anything particularly enticing yet. I've even contemplated running on the mud (translation: playing the game portion of the place M and I met rather than the chatty portion.) You know the boredom is bad when you start thinking about running! :) Not that that makes sense to many of you.

I had a nice long post planned for Tuesday night, where I made a long list of the books I got for my birthday. I typed them all, but when I copied them to my computer from the living room, I somehow lost the first half of the list. I had already restacked them and turned everything off in there, so I decided that it wasn't important enough to redo. In any case.. they were mostly romance. Non-romance presents include Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods, two knitting books and a book of tatting patterns. I also got money from my parents, grandparents and aunt. At the same time, I got a coupon at Handy Hands (tatting store) for 10% off and free shipping. I wouldn't think that's a coincidence, so I might have to spend some of it there on another book. :) Oh, and I have one more tatting book on the way--I'll write more about it when I get it, because it's a little unusual. :) Gotta love Ebay..

I started thinking about the book I started writing in eighth grade this evening, and it occured to me that the plot of said book was not nearly as bad as I had thought. I had filled about forty pages in a purple notebook when I lost interest. Actually, I think it's a pretty good idea, with a few modifications. I'm thinking of making it book two.. I'll edit book one later. I don't really think that (most of) the book I wrote in November is very good, but I think I did learn an awful lot about the process of book-writing. Namely---it's best to have a complete plot before you begin. It helps. ;) M and I have been nagging each other about writing. It's such an easy thing to say that you're going to do, but when you actually have time, it gets a lot harder. I'm such a procrastinator.

And tonight's the last-ever Friends. Two hours long. They could have made four more episodes out of it instead of having an abnormally short season. Although.. it's widely known that they're making a million dollars each per episode. If the same rules apply for this episode even though it's so much longer--that would save NBC eighteen million dollars. I completely just made that up.. have absolutely no idea if it's true or not. Interesting thought, anyway.
