Mondays are nice because I actually get stuff done. I finished up with my computer's issues--I gave in and did a reinstall of my reinstallation. It was screwy from day one. This weekend, I got it working again but had to finish installing a bunch of stuff today. I also did administrative work--answering emails (including one that I received from the author of the book that taught me to tat, which I thought was pretty cool) and a couple of site fixes and all those little things that pile up when you think "Oh, that'll just take a second." I developed a headache in the afternoon just before I started working on book ideas. I need Nanowrimo back, apparently. :) I also updated my tatting blog today. Finally. I stay behind on that thing all the time.

I got to open a tiny present tonight after midnight. My precious husband bought me three packs of needle-threaders. I now have twelve of them, and I don't sew. *giggle* I did mention to him last week that I broke two of them in one day, but what I didn't tell him was that it was a fluke, and not one likely to be repeated. It was a terrific sentiment, though, since he knew I needed them. No loss--I'll just be well-stocked for a few years. :) That's honestly my favorite sort of gift, even if it didn't work out quite like he had planned this time. I'm a little sad because I know almost everything I'm getting for my birthday (and I think I have a good guess on the unknown.) I've enjoyed picking out exactly what I want, but still, it does lose a little bit when it comes time to open presents. Oh, well. I've already been given happiness and love this year by a certain Australian who started my birthday early so what more could I possible ask for this year?!

Anyway. I've been trying to write this for hours and I keep finding things to go do instead of write, so I guess I'm not in the mood for it. There are clean sheets and I am freshly showered. I'm reading a new book. I can see no logical reason for me not to be in bed. Well. Except for the fact that the clean sheets aren't actually ON the bed, but heaped there in a disheveled fashion. Must drag M away from computer game to help me with that..

Birthday!

Having a great birthday so far--thanks for all the happy wishes from my delightful friends. :) I think we're going to go to the majorly exciting world of Walmart in a few minutes, but we're taking a few minutes to sit down and relax first. I got to open all my presents after lunch (we went to Pizza Hut) and so I'm very happy with my stack of books--I've never had such a bookish holiday. I'll go into more detail later tonight when I have a little more time because I know how it irritates some people when one doesn't go into more detail when they mention books. ;) I also got the first season of Friends on dvd, and three card games. Also, the inlaws bought me a diamond pendant. My parents have yet to deliver on the goods, but she called a few minutes ago to say she was working on some surprises, so that sounds fun. :) Like I said, more on the loot later.

I'm currently very impressed with Staples. I ordered a dvd burner for M yesterday afternoon from them--free shipping. It arrived today. Incredible. The closest Staples is seventy miles away, although this was shipped from Ohio anyway. (By the way, it's $50, after discount and rebate. here.) I'm letting him have it early because I'm a major pushover. I really like buying him stuff. In this case, though, I just don't see the point of letting computer equipment languish in storage for two more months before he can use it--especially not when he's been needing one a lot lately. (We have over one gigabyte of pictures from April, for one thing.) Besides, I need the UPC for the rebate.

Anyway. I guess I should get my ducks in a row so we can get out of here. I also need to figure out if we have everything we need for garlic chicken and parmesan potatoes before we leave. And we just might go to Big Lots and a shoe store before we come home.. more excitement in one day than I could ever hope for! :)
