Oh my goodness, am I tired. This day has gone on for ages. Actually, this week has gone on for ages as well. It's almost over, though, and I guess it's all going to work out. These repetitive entries about moving and stress and new job and all that are probably boring, but I want to be able to remember stuff later, so there's no help for it. That's also why I'm finding time to write here at all. I'll try to come up with something funny and scandalous and interesting to post later on.

We had to stop at Walmart on the way out of town to pick up a cable modem so we could give the right numbers to the plant board. We picked up a small lunch at 10:30 because we were both starving to death, and lately I've been getting quite queasy if I get too hungry. We went to the Frankfort house and put our stuff away--we took a load of boxes down while we were at it. I tried to call the phone company from my cellphone, but it refused to go through--feeling questionable about that. I had to use a secondary number that I found on their website (which is not viewable at all in Opera, which loses them six thousand points in my book) later in the day when I called, actually, and get transferred to the right department. What kind of phone company has a non-functional phone number? We talked to the plant board, just like they told M to do, but today they said we had to come in to take care of it, so we headed downtown to fork over $180. That's a big hunk of change for a deposit, I think! It accrues interest, apparently. They felt the need to say that when we cancel our service with them, they would apply that money towards our last bill. Excuse me, but how much do they think our last bill is going to be?! Also, I did get through to the phone company much later in the day, when we got home, and so now all of our utilties are set. That's a relief. And we have a new phone number! Nifty. I guess.

Blah. Okay. Then we went to do a bit of shopping. I bought two pairs of shoes and failed to find any nice clothes. I spend almost no money on clothes normally, but we figure that starting a new job is reason enough to do that. When we got home, we had dinner and M went on a search for boxes and we packed for a while. We walked over to tell the nice neighbors that we were leaving--they're also extremely interested in getting out of here. Actually, they're probably more anxious to leave than we are. They're both quite nice and it was rather silly that we didn't get to know them any better before we moved. We were there for quite some time, but then we've been packing the rest of the evening. Man, packing sucks. It's hard work! And then when we get down there, it's going to be just as much unfun unpacking!

Random Good Things About The New Stuff In Our Life
  • Lots of empty space, relatively speaking.
  • Dishwasher
  • Stairs (we're both really excited about these stairs for some reason, which is probably not all that bright of us)
  • No lawn work necessary, no guilt for not working on my non-existent garden
  • We're much closer to friends.
  • We can have our coffee table back! We didn't bring it back in after we put the carpet down because it took up the entire living room.
  • More shopping closer.
  • Two bathrooms (okay, so one is a half, but still.)
  • Lots of picture-taking opportunities
  • M says I can buy a PDA.
What Almost Caused Me To Call The Whole Deal Off Today
  • No FoodTV. Uncivilized beasts, the lot of them.
