I have been quite negligent about posting this weekend. Yes, it's because I've fallen asleep pre-writing. M asked me what I wanted for dinner on Friday, and my immediate response was La Finca's, which is my most favoritest Mexican restaraunt in Morehead. Actually, it's my favorite Mexican restaraunt anywhere. Actually, it's my favorite restaraunt of any type, anywhere. It occured to me that we could actually go, though.. so we called the parents and asked them if they wanted to meet us there at seven, and we got our ducks in a row and headed out. Seriously, it's not that it's a quick drive or anything, but it's just an hour and a half. We used to go to Lexington on less notice than that, so what does the extra half hour do, especially since we've started listening to audio books. (We finished Anne Rice's The Mummy last week, and now we're into Blackwood Farm, also by Anne Rice. Harry Potter coming up next, probably.) In any case, we had an excellent dinner with my parents and a few other miscellaneous relateives, followed by a game of rook and further visitation with the parents. It was a nice evening, but we didn't get home until midnight, and I fell asleep in the car on the way back, so I pretty much just fell in bed when we got home.

We went to Lexington to get a bit of shopping and a couple of errands done yesterday, which was rather fun. We're still enjoying being able to go without it being such a big deal.. when you drive an hour, you really feel like you should get some stuff done while you're there, and we tend to have very specific things we want to do. I started off the day in a complete rut because of the volume of Mosaic Minds work that has to be done this weekend. The next issue is supposed to go live on Thursday, and I've barely gotten started on it because I've been busy with work and life and stuff. I ended up so melancholy about being inside working while it was soo pretty outside yesterday that we had to go somewhere because I knew otherwise I wouldn't be able to get a thing done. The plan was to work hard last night when we got home, but Jenny called just as we were pulling into our subdivision, and we talked for almost three hours. When we hung up, I went downstairs and sat on the couch with M and was asleep in twenty minutes. I guess that's why he's always making fun of me for sleeping all the time. I never did that before I met him. I guess I didn't do it because I went to bed when I was sleepy instead of trying to stay up with someone who's freakish about sleeping schedules... ahem.

We bought a lamp at Target last night, incidentally, that my darling husband is utterly in love with. It's now his favorite piece of furniture--including the bookcase, if you can believe it. It's a silvery metal pole with five bendable arms. We bought it so we can direct some light into our closet and also have task lighting on demand, but now he's so in love with it he wants to buy at least two more to put behind each of our desks. To be honest, he wants to buy ten more of them, but he hasn't yet come up with a reason for the other eight so I'm not even entertaining the notion. Silly boy. It does look rather neat, I must say.. although it would never have occured to me personally to buy a dozen of them.

So anyway. We've been busy this weekend so far, but today I really have to settle in and get some of this web stuff done. I'm pretending that I'm in college and have a big paper due. Then I would break the day up into pieces, and take specific breaks after specified periods of time. Reward stage one today is a shower, and I guess the longer I write in my journal the longer it will take before I can have that shower, so I should go get started. Not that I'm just writing to procrastinate or anything. No, not at all.

If you've never had a donut peach, you really need to keep an eye out for them. They're shaped rather like a donut, hence the name. They're also known as Saturn peaches, it seems, from the sticker. I saw them at WalMart last night and it made me all happy. Take this from someone who peddled produce last year--it will be the best peach you will ever eat. Yum.
