Happy Saturday Me!
Jul. 3rd, 2004 11:19 pmI woke up in an excellent mood this morning, and immediately got very excited at the idea of going to the peddler's mall, which is an indoor flea market where the vendors aren't present--the cashiers keep track of who sells what, so you just pick stuff up from all over the building and pay when you leave. We've had great fun at those before, although we rarely buy anything worth mentioning. We've lived here for a month and a half now and we had never gotten around to going, but it was the first thing I thought of this morning, for some unknown reason, and I couldn't stand the thought of living here just one more day without pawing through someone else's junk. I woke M up. He thought I was pleasantly cuckoo, but agreed that it was a fine plan anyway. We didn't buy a single thing, but we had fun.
I spent the better part of the afternoon buried in books. M did the packing and unpacking of the books, and had pretty much just thrown them in the shelves with no regard to order since we were kind of in a hurry with everything. It's been relatively low on the list of things to fix, though, so it hasn't been worked on much at all since we moved in. I need a good place to unload some of my books--it's time for a ruthless pruning. I haven't done that in a long while. There are certain books that I don't forsee ever really getting rid of, but I would be okay with losing a good deal of them. Won't read them again, so what's the point in keeping them around? I normally put them in the yard sale but I don't see us having one of those for a long while. Anyway. I still have a couple of shelves worth to get through but it's fairly decent for now, at least.
We just finished watching our movie (Ocean's Eleven--let's not talk about how many times we've seen it by now) and now M has started with the South Park movie. I bought it for him for his birthday, upon request. I smell popcorn, and I'm defrosting some french silk pie, so it's one of those lovely junk-food nights. I keep thinking I'm going to get going with the exercise and healthy eating again, but it's just not happening yet. Maybe next week. I think it must be time for me to go check on the status of said pie, and read and tat and just generally revel in the happiness of not having to get up tomorrow for work. I do so like to revel.
